The value of services bought and sold on oDesk has nearly tripled in each of the past two years, representing the company’s most substantial growth period to date. Over $43 million in work has been delivered through oDesk. Other important company milestones include:
Over 110,000 professionals from 100 countries now offer their services on oDesk with the addition of 86,000 new providers in just 12 months. Over 190,000 qualification tests have been taken by more than 55,000 oDesk providers making it easy for oDesk buyers to identify the right providers. oDesk offers hundreds of free qualifications tests covering a broad range of technical and office skills such as PHP, Java, Adobe Photoshop, Microsoft Office applications, English editing, and SEO and encourages all new providers to complete a free profile.
Over 3,000,000 work hours have been logged on oDesk, with 55,000 logged within the last week alone (see chart).
“oDesk’s rapid growth is attributable to our superior business model,” said Gary Swart, CEO of oDesk. “Buyers get access to a global talent pool of highly-specialized technical talent and real-time visibility into providers’ work. It’s as close as it gets to everyone working in the same office. Providers get access to thousands of long-term job opportunities every month and guaranteed payment.”
