As an Infrastructure Engineer and IT Manager, I have proven experience in deploying and managing technology solutions for a wide variety of business needs. My goal in freelancing is to allow me to explore and utilize technologies that would not otherwise be available to me with a single employer. I have a hunger to learn and stay sharp. While my most recent full-time role was 75% managerial, I do have a strong hands-on technical background. During my 12 year professional career in Information Technology, I have been in roles such as Network Administrator, Network Engineer(Sr.), Consulting Engineer and Manager of Infrastructure. I have professional experience with Cisco Routing and Switching, Cisco ASA Firewalls, Cisco Wireless LAN Controllers, Cisco Nexus Switches, Aerohive Wireless Access Points, Meraki Cloud, HP Networking, VMware ESXi, VMware Horizon/View, SAN Administration, Amazon AWS, and a variety of other technologies that I've supported through consulting engagements. I've worked closely with IT Security professionals and have been through SOC1 and SOC2 audit processes as well as maintained and provided support to PCI-DSS and HIPAA compliant systems. Throughout my career, I've achieved success on high profile technology projects including new construction/IT deployments for both regional and datacenter rollouts. I've deployed fully redundant network systems reliant on dynamic routing protocols such as EIGRP and BGP. I have been the technical liaison for application rollouts and replacements. I've worked with DevOps teams to guide custom software development for in-house applications. I've been the technical lead for cloud migrations for email and telephony and provisioned cloud resources for storage and compute. I enjoy working with new people and taking on new challenges. I'm no stranger to sticky situations and am confident under pressure. If the work requires a steady hand with high stakes I feel right at home. My formal education level is a B.S in Information Technology Network Specialist Concentration from the Pennsylvania College of Technology. I also maintain a catalog of active professional certifications including CCNA Route/Switch, CCNA Security, CCNA Wireless and Amazon AWS Certified Solutions Architect.

Tech Support and Customer Success Management for Startups, B2B, IT, SaaS, MSaaS, PaaS, DaaS, IaaS, ITMaaS and SMBs. Email, phone, live chat, remote support, screen sharing, discussion board, social network moderation & advertising. (Windows, Apple iOS & OSX, Android) Talent scout and manager for writers & IT reps: hire, train, coach, supervise and edit all writing before posting the content to WordPress. My Philosophy for IT Help Desk | Customer Success Supervision | Tech Support Management: Listen & Learn "Customers have more words to describe their tech issues than Eskimos have for Snow." · Diverse people have different ways to express themselves (and their technical issues). I listen first, show that I understand the issue next, then I provide guidance to my customer (or trainee). This shows my customer that I care about him and the impact that the issue has for his business—then I craft a resolution. Engagement · Identify opportunities for engagement by understanding who, what, when, where and how to engage. Ask the Right Questions · It's more important not to overwhelm the customer with unnecessary questions or details that may confuse less tech-savvy users, or annoy advanced users. Flexibility · Respect the customer's time! I write to educate the reader (not to show what I know) with simple, easy to digest (how-to) instructionals that some might even call "fun." · There is no one-size-fits-all method for tech support or documentation. Whether an end user or B2B user, each ticket may require different questions and approach to resolution, even if the troubleshooting steps are the same. Use Non-technical Language · Guide customers through step-by-step processes that may be unfamiliar. · Use the terminology that the customer uses to make the conversation comfortable. · Listen for subtle verbal cues that reveal the callers' comfort level with technology so I can tailor my scope of support to fit their skillset. Polite, Friendly and Professional · I approach support by being genuinely interested in solving my customer's problems using empathy and creative ideas. Recovery · Experience as an escalation rep taught me effective ways to turn a bad experience into a great one! Consistent Documentation for Tickets · I strive to add the "Goldilocks of Knowledge" to each ticket: - Too LITTLE INFO and a future rep won't know why the customer called before, and management won't realize the call metrics for common problems. - Too MUCH INFO takes too long to write, too much time for future reps to read, and makes management sift through trivial info to find the juicy details. - When documentation is done just right, managers can resolve potential issues before they occur, and company owners' gain valuable insights about customer experience (CX) that they can't get anywhere else. 😊 Experiences include: walkme.com creation, infographics, System's Admin experience (sysadmin), Windows Server setup & maintenance (physical servers like Server 2012, cloud servers and business cloud servers), virtualization environments, configuring content with AWS or Google Cloud Services (my favorite), working with ticketing systems. CRM, help desk & support ticket systems: · ZenDesk · SalesForce · Bloomfire · Asana · Zoho · Freshdesk · GoToAssist · GrooveHQ Remote Support: · TeamViewer · GoToAssist · Bomgar E-commerce & Website Admin experience: · Shopify · Wordpress · Ebay & Amazon · PayPal · Social Networking sites (too many to list) · Write Knowledge Base articles, work with devs to create documentation, Support Forum & FAQs with DocuWiki (Open Source) and CRM software (ZenDesk). · Create animated GIFs to illustrate computer or software processes, slideshows, videos and Whiteboard modules for employee training or customer onboarding. · Zoho | ZenDesk CRM Admin & setup, automation, customization, integration, modules/fields, web forms, create email templates for email blasts, newsletters, promos—you name it! Very comfortable with technology, some Zapier, apps, MailChimp...and so much more! ♢ Writing & Editing Experiences: Wordpress Copywriting Social Network Campaigns SEO Tools AP, MLA, Chicago Formatting ♢ Content Styles: Knowledge Base & FAQ Instruction Manuals Technical Documentation 'About,' 'How to,' 'How Things Work' ♢ Do you want to avoid fluffy, stuffy, distant, or stiff-sounding writing? - I offer a straightforward, mostly informative, sometimes humorous but always genuine writing style. - Like tuning an instrument, I make fine adjustments that enhance the overall tone for each written piece. - Consideration for: style and tone, structure and format, detail and research. ♢ What You Can Expect: ✔ Openness and swift response to all communications ✔ Keen eye for correct formatting, punctuation and grammar—always. ✔ Accurately proofread work ✔ Timely submission of all assignments, Guaranteed.

I am a lifetime learner and technology nut with over 10 years of experience in the IT industry. My strengths are heavily focused in Networks and Systems with enough programming to keep it interesting and efficient. I regularly do systems/networking work in colocations and cloud environments, doing everything from Terraforming AWS deployments and building out CI/CD pipelines, to dropping in Cisco Nexus switches with a bunch of ESXI/Hyper-v hosts. I also have extensive experience with mobile networking and VPN mesh, having designed and configured Vehicle Area Networks for critical Fire and Police roles in a major metropolitan area among other projects.

I'm an IT Systems Administrator specializing in PowerShell development and automation in Windows/VMware/Hyper-V/O365 environments. I have a solid foundation in networking, server infrastructure, and datacenter architecture. While focusing my efforts on not duplicating work, I've gravitated towards PowerShell automation. With expertise in various IT areas, I've used PowerShell to automate and present complex tasks to empower lower-level IT professionals. I've automated many Systems Administrator/Engineer responsibilities including VM provisioning, Large-scale Active Directory management, Exchange and O365 management, and software deployment. I have also created reports for upper management in the forms of HTML web pages, emails, formatted Excel documents, and live dashboards using PowerShell. I'm very interested in further expanding my PowerShell knowledge, and using what I've learned so far to help you reach the deliverables on your next project. Thank you.

Programming Linux / Unix Expert Database Networking DevOps Video Programming Created a containerized data ingest system in python which reads in time series csv files into pandas and cleans the data, preparing to insert it into big query. The system processes 10s of millions of rows per day inserting into a table which is over 80 billion rows. Worked with a team of programmers supporting an OpenStack LBaaS driver for A10's load balancer platform. The system is written in Object Oriented Python. The platform allows Neutron to configure A10 virtual and physical load balancers. Two of the more significant contributions I made were to add IPv6 support and store the configuration parameters in the Neutron database. I created a custom authentication module for a golang based reverse proxy system which allowed the proxy client to authenticate with the golang based proxy server application which acts as the tunnel endpoint. The authentication module in the server looks up the client's credentials in a Kamailio server's database. I created tools to read data from csv files and exported it into CRMs and other systems using REST APIs in Python. Unix Expert I have worked with Unix for over 20 years.
