Assist with Branding and Tech Pack Designs for Luxury Pet Collars, Leashes and Accessories
I began working with Natalya in March of 2024 to assist me with my dog accessory line for my startup. After discussing the project, Natalya informed me that I will be able to go to market in 4-6 months (August 2024 latest) and her fee to do so will be $5,000-$6,000. It is now May 20th and I am still not to market and Natalya charged me a total of $13,696.62. Natalya consistently over promised and under delivered throughout this project. I couldn’t put my finger on it, but with time, I could see that she was intentionally slowing down the project, which initially did not make sense to me. I’m thinking to myself, why is this taking so long! I found that she was creating little “accidents” or “mistakes” or “misunderstandings”. After months of misunderstandings, I found out that she was privately messaging my factory and suppliers to change my directive, so that the samples would continue to look different during each round. I was so confused, but I was able to confirm with my factory that during the sampling process, Natalya was giving them the direct opposite instructions to what I had asked. In addition, she instructed me to order the incorrect materials on numerous occasions, which cost me thousands and further delays. Why would she do this? What is her incentive? For one, she set up the contract, so that she could continue to add manual time and she found a way to keep making money. I was at a loss for words asking her why we are now exceeding the 6K estimated quote as discussed below, however, that was not a concern of hers and she would continue to add time to correct the mistakes that she had originally made. Please keep in mind that I had interviewed over 20 factories/designers and had worked with 2 designers prior to Natalya, but they could only handle the design and not the tech design element of the project of which she is specialized. Once I was more than half in with Natalya, that is when I had started to notice this weird behavior, however I was in a situation where I felt trapped. I did not have anyone else that I could turn to or ask to take over. I did everything in my power to learn as much along the way so that I could finally take over, get rid of her and regain my sanity.
Working with Natalya was such an unpleasant experience, because she is so incredibly selfish. It’s all about her. As a new startup and someone that is bootstrapping the whole project, money is tight and budgets need to be firm to succeed. I had explained to Natalya in great detail of how I am already delayed by 6 months, due to working with previous designers that do not have the correct skill set, and need to go to market by August 2024 or I am at great risk at not having enough capital to support the business overhead. Her continued response would be “don’t worry Laura, we have plenty of time”. It is now May 20th 2025 and I am still not to market. I have lost a tremendous amount of money (approximately 50K) by not being able to go to market by August 2024, replacing all of the mistakes in materials/hardware/design, because I do not have an income coming in. This business in a full time job and my saving is supporting my personal expenses as well.
The reason that I am just getting around to disputing these charges now is because my mental health was at an all time low and I did not have the bandwidth to write this. I just cannot believe that someone so talented as Natalya would be so incredibly evil and dishonest. I really trusted her and felt violated by her actions. I truly hope that you will ensure that she is removed from your network of recommended freelancers. She is not doing this for the right reasons. However, if you do decide to proceed with Natalya, whatever price and time she suggests, multiply it by 4 times and that will most likely be your experience with her.

Initial design
Based on your information I will submit a sketch in Illustrator with all views of the product. Once you are happy with the design I will proceed to specification pack. We can discuss materials selection during that time.
