Project 8: El-Sheikh Zaied Building, it is a private, non-governmental building, it is residential building(See to below image). One of the more challenging projects, I analyzed and studied the seismic evaluation of the 5th floors concrete structure consists of flat slabs columns, & isolated spread foundation. The building consists of 5 floors; basement , ground, first, second , and third residential floors. It is located in El-Sheikh Zaied District, Giza government, Egypt. It was constructed at 2012. The total construction cost was 7 million Egyptian pounds. The building was previously designed according to Egyptian code for the design and execution of reinforced concrete structures: Code No. ECP 203-2007. During the study, the building was without any finishing and masonry partitions (concrete skeleton only). The client requested to evaluate the overall structural safety of the building and submitting the suitable design of repair, retrofitting and strengthening methods if required.
