I'm a 3d artist with a background in Architecture, and I've been doing product design for the past four years. I can do my design from the product with a hand-drawn sketch of what your product will look like for Conceptualization with the prototype and, finally, the rendering process. I use software such as 3ds Max, Maya Cinema4D, SkechUp and Rhino while using render plugins such as octane, Keyshot and Vray.
It depends on the kind of product to design If it's a plastic-based design(bottles), Mechanical Product, industrial product. A reference file will be needed from the client, which can be a hand-drawn sketch of what your product will look like with labels explaining the various features and functions or a detailed drawing.
The deliverables will be a couple of renders for your product.
Renders can be delivered as PNG or JPG files or any other file you need.
