Project details
As a fan and student of classic newspaper comics, my work seeks to capture the essence of old-school single-panel newspaper comics, but does with a modern sensibility, incorporating contemporary yet timeless imagery, themes, and technologies, while avoiding politics. While my favorite cartoon are from the 80s, 90s, and 2000s, my sense of humor is grounded in today. The Far Side, In The Bleachers, Non Sequitur, Bizarro, and others are my main influences.
You'll get a cartoon that looks just my examples, but does not have to include "The Weird FX" title, or the black outline box, if you prefer not to have them. It's up to you!

On a call, we talk through the gag of the cartoon you have in mind. We decide on a direction, and if you are going to provide any copy, you will do it on or before the call.

I provide a pencil style light sketch of the concept for your approval. This is your one time to make any changes! After this step, all creative decisions will be up to me.
