Project details

You will get a detailed illustration of a character of your choice that you can use for any project. I will help you bring your character to life through a thorough process that keeps you involved every step of the way. My process involves various steps to ensure customer satisfaction!

Step One: Initial communication to discuss the details of your character.

Step Two: I sketch a variety of poses for you to choose from that fit the personality of your character.

Step Three: I create a rough sketch of your character in the pose you choose and we collaborate to ensure that your character looks exactly how you want it to.

Step Four: I create a final clean sketch of your character for your approval before I begin the illustration process.

Step Five: I begin the illustration process and keep you updated with in-progress images of your character so you can make changes or adjustments along the way as needed.

Step Six: I deliver an image of the final illustration for approval and any last-minute revisions.

Step Seven: Everything is complete and I deliver your character in any file type of your choosing!

Illustrator needed for children's picture book If I could give Heather 100 stars I would! I hired Heather to illustrate my first picture book and working with her was the best experience! I had no idea what to expect and the illustration process was completely new to me. Heather was so patient in helping me to understand everything, step by step, and always answered my questions promptly. We began with developing the characters, and she was completely receptive to my feedback and always patient, even when I wanted the smallest detail changed! And Heather was like that throughout the entire process. She was always willing to make changes and try things out, always prompt in getting back to me, and alway creating brilliant work. Heather is an absolutely amazing artist. Each page of my book is a work of art and every person who has seen her illustrations can't stop raving about how beautiful they are. Her realistic style is unique and not easy to execute. Heather is SO talented!!! She brought my story to life and I'm so excited to be starting the second book in the series with her!

Book Cover Character Design It was a delight working with Heather. It was my first time hiring on Upwork and I had a very short deadline. She was very good at guiding me through the entire process and providing check points for us to keep in tune with my vision and what she was creating. Illustrator for The Wise Men of the West Heather's work is beautiful, and we're so happy with how it turned out for our book. Heather did an awesome job working with our author to create historically accurate drawings of objects and buildings from around the Middle East. Her communication with our author and staff was quick and detailed and made the process as seamless as possible. We would highly recommend!

Hi! My name is Heather and I am an illustrator and graphic designer who uses photo realistic techniques and stylized techniques to form narratives pertaining to imaginative realism, fantasy, book cover art, character art, and children’s books. My education stems from the Hartford Art School where I graduated with my BFA in illustration. Having been trained by many different professionals in my field, my toolbox is full of many different mediums that I use to help bring the stories we know and love to life.

I have worked with a variety of different clients to date illustrating book covers for a handful of talented authors. A couple of books I have illustrated include two young adult novels written by Geoffrey Moore, "The Tale Of Hodgepodge" and "Izzy’s Impossible Adventure." I also helped design and illustrate a young superhero named Max who appears in "Ne’Faro: The Invasion" written by Jeffrey Ogbonnaya. I've also enjoyed drawing the character art for the indie horror game Broken Silence. My latest endeavor involved a fully illustrated children's book written by Andrea Lane called, "Abby the Crabby Tabby: Discovers Gratitude."
