I've been an artist ever since I can remember. My interest in art took me from drawing Saturday morning cartoons like He-man, The Smurfs and The Visionaries; to referencing comic artworks from Marvel, DC and Image, from artists like Jim Lee, Travis Charest, David Finch etc. From there I got into more realistic renditions of Frazetta and Alex Ross and their fine art heroes with the likes of Norman Rockwell and J.S. Sargent.

I've always been an artist, even though I've taken a different path academically. I got a B.S. in Biology back in college, and took it further taking medicine after graduation. But it never really felt right and I felt displaced. I was bored and miserable. Even after passing exam after exam, it was still a soulless endeavor for me. Fruitless and devoid of satisfaction.

Amidst books of anatomy and biochemistry, my mind always drifted towards the arts, and I sketched and painted between subjects, during midday breaks and more so over weekends. After mindlessly attending school for a year, I thought better of it and took a leave of absence; thinking I was just getting a breather to rest my weary mind. I was just so uninspired. I took a year off and in that year I put up a printing business as an adjunct to my family's textile business. It went well, so well that I kept at it for nine years, but not after going back to med school, for a week and then finally realizing that it was really not for me. I finally buried the hatchet on being a doctor and left med school permanently.

Fast forward to now, I am running a business and happily freelancing as a digital artist. I finally found what I wanted to do in life, which is to draw and paint, both traditionally and digitally.

So far, as a digital artist I've done portraits, caricatures, story boards, concept character art, NFT Projects etc. It has been a very fulfilling side job of mine. I have accounts in different freelancing sites, which has allowed me to scratch my artistic itch even though I have a business to run all these years, and it's all thanks to the convenience of technology and modern-day communication.

It's been a great ride so far and I hope to be more of these in the future. Cheers!
