I have over 13 years of experience working with Modx, and over the last few years, I've maintained over a dozen maintenance contracts. These contracts range from quarterly maintenance to maintenance as requested. I take pride in my testing efforts before applying any updates to the live site, making sure that all features work as they did before the maintenance. If I do spot something wrong, I'm able to fix it on the spot or inform clients of the next steps.
Depending on the exact nature of the site and updates required, my usual maintenance flow is to take backups of site files and databases, create a copy of the website, test updates on the copy, then apply updates to the live site once they're verified as safe and working. At any point during that, I can wait for the next step to be signed off on.

Since I was 12, I've been pursuing graphic design and web development both independently and through schooling. I started off building websites using free website generators like MaxPages and Geocities. Since then, I've moved onto custom designs built using Photoshop and Dreamwever on content management systems, like MODx and Wordpress, with standard-compliant coding.
Over the years, I’ve had experience with HTML, CSS, Javascript (jQuery), PHP, XML, and MySQL, both as they pertain to content management systems as well as custom-built solutions. I’m experienced with Apache-based hosting platforms and the software that comes with them, like cPanel and PHPMyAdmin. I’ve also worked with AWS and Microsoft hosting platforms on an as-needed basis.
One thing I’ve come to love about development is troubleshooting and fixing websites, both in live and test environments. Solving the puzzles of code you’ve never seen before to bring a website back online is incredibly satisfying. In a similar vein, I enjoy performing routine maintenance on websites as it allows me to catch problems before they appear, both from a functionality and security standpoint.
In 2016, I began a new venture in content creation, which exists alongside my web development work. Content creation has allowed me to explore new creative avenues like video recording and live streaming using software like Premiere Pro and OBS on platforms like YouTube and Twitch. I’ve also had the opportunity to further my graphic design and web development experience through creating and maintaining a website where I write guides and other articles.
My work has required me to be a constant presence on social media. This not only means frequently communicating with people but also making sure the content I’m creating can be displayed or consumed across all social media platforms. I must also perform search engine optimization to ensure my content appears in search results when relevant.

Backups of all website files and databases are taken before any work is done. These are shared with the client for long term storage.

The website is copied, ideally on its live server if storage space permits, otherwise it's copied to my development server.
