Project details
You will receive a Digital Elevation Model (DEM) in a georefereced GeoTiff format and a non-georeferenced shaded DEM as .png file, as pictured. Area modeled will be a 1,000 foot buffer around provided point. Projection of DEM will be in the same format as the LiDAR data.
First tier includes processing of up to four LiDAR tiles (typically 5,000x5,000 feet or 1 mile by 1 mile). This will ensure that if a point location is provided, the extent will be covered. If a polygon is provided it is possible the 1,000 foot buffer will require more tiles (see tier 2 or 3).
Second tier includes processing of 5-20 LiDAR tiles. 5-20 tiles wont be needed for a single point provided, but possible with large polygon as a project area.
Second tier pricing is applicable to a point with 1,000 foot buffer as extent if any items are requested as custom: projection change, vertical unit change or different export output is requested (GDAL formats only).
Third tier includes processing of 21-40 LiDAR tiles. This wont be needed for a single point provided, but possible with very large polygon as a project area.

Work in the green sector includes solar development (site selection and suitability), identifying buildable land and constraints; finding suitable locations on commercial building rooftops for solar using LiDAR; identifying customer locations and their proximity to electric vehicle (EV) charging stations (alternative fuels).
Applied applications of GIS technology to areas such as infrastructure, telecommunications, renewable energy, risk assessment, water resources, road & rail networks, land development and mining.
First in the state of Florida to receive agency approval for GIS-based stream bank modeling (other surface waters). Other modeling methods have saved clients enormous amounts of time and money, such as modeling hydrologic features on l in the example of predicting where stream locations are in a 20,000 acre site. Modeled hydrologic features and flood potential in utility corridors. Mapped and managed field data for two 20,000 acre projects and a 10,000 acre project (GPS and GIS data).
Many interesting and unique examples applying GIS over 25 years; happy to discuss how GIS technology can help your adventure.
Expert using GIS desktop software and also developed expertise providing GIS services via web mapping and web services (WMS/WFS). Use open source software on Linux to share GIS data on the web via Leaflet.
Available for tutoring or teaching opportunities. Have taught PhD water resource candidate about GIS (ArcMap) data, methods and applications as well as other students in university.
Utilize open source software for geospatial analysis and modeling (QGIS and GRASS GIS).

Process LiDAR to DEM & Shaded DEM
Will process LiDAR tiles to cover extent from provided geopackage, shapefile or KML file, plus 1,000 foot buffer. Then will export DEM to GeoTiff and shaded DEM to .png file.
