Hi, I'm Jay. During the day, I'm a Data Scientist at a professional-services firm in the Washington, DC area. Outside of normal working hours, I keep my skills sharp by working on various freelance projects that typically involve advanced analytics, machine learning, front-end and back-end web development, data scraping, data conditioning, and data integration.

My formal education includes an undergraduate degree in Engineering from Virginia Tech and an M.S. in Mathematics and Statistics from Georgetown University. One of the things that I love most about Data Science, Machine Learning, and Data Engineering is that the tools and techniques can be applied to a wide range of subject matter - from DNA sequencing to airport security screening - and it's always fun to tackle new problems.
