PHP Laravel Developer - Full Time
Mouhib attempted to scam us. First of all he did not start the project at the agreed time which was not a big issue but then after starting to work on it, he made claims that the whole back end needed to be rewritten "from scratch". I then asked him to produce a list of the issues with the back end so we could decide what to do. He then produced a list of very minor issues (nothing to do with the back end). I think when he first said that he did not realize that the original developer who wrote it was still on our team and was able to respond to his criticism. As soon as he found that out, he suddenly did not want to discuss it anymore and quickly changed to say that it was only a few minor issues and then said he could not work on it (for some reason?) and ended the contract. I think what happened was he first tried to get us to agree to rewriting the back end so he would have a huge and unnecessary/fake project to do, and then when he realized the dev who wrote the original back end was still with us, he panicked and quit/ended the contract to avoid being caught. I also do not think he is really an individual because if you read the reviews on his profile, there are a few names being used. I urge caution and to consider this in any discussions with this freelancer.
