I have worked 20 years in the IT industry and worked on joint projects alongside major companies considered to be the "heavy-hitters" within the industry:- Microsoft, Fujitsu, McAfee and Symantec .
For the past 5+ years, I have worked with both government-based and business stakeholders conducting ICT security risk and vulnerability assessments on their IT infrastructure. I have investigated suspected attacks, security breaches and implemented appropriate security strategies and controls to manage security incidents.
During the period 2016-2017, there were security breaches within the public sector (government ministries and state enterprises) due to hacking, phishing scams, viruses (WannaCry, CryptoRansomWare, Petya) and security vulnerabilities within the network infrastructure. I worked jointly with Microsoft, Fujitsu and Symantec on this project in identifying areas of security breaches and taking the necessary remedial action to diagnose, correct, repair, and prevent against future threats and malfunctions. A security audit and assurance exercise was conducted on all stakeholders throughout the public sector to ensure that all IT infrastructure, enterprise architecture and software applications were updated, patched and were in compliance with licensing and security best practices. Conducted meetings with the Trinidad and Tobago Computer Security Incident Response Team (TTCSIRT), Fujitsu and stakeholders on the mandate of the revision and development of the ICT security policy, procedural guidelines and security best practices.
The project allowed me to demonstrate my strong knowledge of IT, network and communication infrasructure, information\data security, and most of all, leadership and my iniative to succeed.
Prior to this, I held positions of Systems Support Specialist and Technical Support Professional for ten years (10) at the National Information and Systems Center.
I hold a BSc. in Computing (Information Management and Information Systems) from the Unversity of Greenwich.
