With over ten years of experience in academia, I have successfully coached several PhD students and postdocs in their academic job searches. With this project, you will receive custom one-on-one coaching for your career development and job search, which will include:
1. Evaluation and discussion of available career options such as public vs. private higher education institutions, academia vs. industry work, non-profits, postdoctoral vs. faculty positions, etc. and/or evaluation and discussion of specific job opportunities if already identified
2. Development and editing of materials including CV, cover letter, research and teaching statements.
3. Assistance in conceptualizing career goals such as identification of appropriate funding sources, transitioning to an independent researcher, and development of short- and long-term research plans
4. Other help as needed
