My name is Hannes, I've been working in the music industry for the last 12 years, writing, producing, recording and mixing both my own music and for others.
In 2006, I bought my first audio interface, an M-Audio FastTrack Pro and a copy of Pro Tools 7 M-Powered. This would eventually lead to my growing interest in recording/producing the songs that I had been writing over the years. It was a rough start and a sharp learning curve but it was through trial and error, (not to mention, the innumerable hours watching youtube tutorials) that I eventually would begin to develop and hone my skills.
It was a few years after in 2010, that I formed a blues/rock band and began recording our own material. Recording a band from scratch was uncharted territory for me but I was more than up for the challenge and once more, my stubborn streak proved invaluable in learning this new skill set. I put together a small setup in our rehearsal space using a M-Audio Profire 2626, ART Digital MPA II 2 channel valve preamplifier and various of microphones I’ve collected over the years I got to work recording our songs.
Fast forward to 2017, when I made the decision to relocate to the Netherlands. I had never actually intended to study audio engineering, but as I realized that my real passion lay in music, it seemed the next logical progression for me. I applied for the SAE, was happily accepted, and since then I feel that I have only continued to flourish. The experience I have gained over the years has helped me greatly during my studies, but I hope that I will continue to learn and grow. There is still much for me to learn and I would rather not limit or pigeonhole myself into one aspect of my chosen career path. In the future, I would love to to score music for film, work in post production for films and television shows as well as record and mix records.
