Nowadays it is extremely easy to make orchestral-sounding music. Sample libraries have come to the point where an untrained ear will have a very hard time telling the difference. What most people working in this field do lack though, is the knowledge of how the instruments they are working with work, thus achieving human-sounding orchestral music is definitely still challenge hard to overcome. I had the luck of working with both real orchestras and sampled ones and both in professional studios: I know that the "perfection" of a great-sounding orchestra is in the tons of small imperfections every instrument has in an ensemble context, and I know how to make my samples work.

Music for a Short Film
Carlo is an INCREDIBLE composer. I found Carlo very talented and easy to work with. He wrote the score for a 22-minute film in less than 2 weeks, being focused just on one task and keeping the day-to-day communication. And the result is just amazing! HUGELY recommend for writing music for your film! Will definitely invite Carlo to work on other projects.

My name is Carlo, I'm a composer and orchestrator currently based in Amsterdam, Netherlands. This is my "All Work", general Upwork profile page, where I write something about me!
I’ve always been into music and storytelling, but this became my plan A only in recent years, after I moved from Italy to Amsterdam. I started on a guitar and ended up studying how to write for orchestra, which as of today is what I’m most passionate about. I try my best to make what I do fit in every genre, and the “never say no” philosophy that sprouted from that, got me working in several fields: I’ve made a bit of everything so far, between pop productions, arranging for metal bands, sound designing for films and mixing.
I’ve discovered that the one thing that makes me the happiest and most fulfilled while writing music, is to succeed into bringing ideas and atmospheres to life. And hearing from the people I worked with, so far so good!
