Project details
I will provide a professional copyedit of your manuscript of fiction (any genre), or nonfiction (memoir or bibliography), and I will address each of the following:
Spelling
Punctuation
Grammar
Syntax
Inconsistencies (includes fact-checking)
Flow
Tense shifts
Word choice
Typos
Repetition
I complete all edits on a Mac with the current version of Microsoft Word and utilize Track Changes and the Comments feature with each project. While I’m editing, I refer to the Merriam-Webster Dictionary and The Chicago Manual of Style. Along with your edited manuscript, I will include a style sheet that addresses the changes I made and note anything of interest that I noticed during my read-through.
I hold a bachelor’s degree in creative writing from the University of North Texas and received my master’s in creative writing with a focus in prose from Texas Tech University. During my master’s program, I worked as an assistant editor for Iron Horse Literary Review and taught college rhetoric to first-year students. With the knowledge I gained from these experiences, I can ensure a careful read of your manuscript and provide insightful and applicable feedback for your revisions.
