My name is Sarah and I am a versatile and dynamic former middle school science teacher turned instructional designer and e-learning consultant. My passion is creating innovative and engaging learning experiences for learners of all ages and professional backgrounds. In my teaching career, I gained substantial experience designing age-appropriate curriculum based on the Next Generation Science Standards as well as building innovating eLearning courses from the ground up. As an instructional designer, I am further growing my skills in learning design, ADDIE/SAM methodologies, and the building of eLearning courses using industry-standard applications. I also have a gift for communication in many forms, particularly writing, editing, and proofreading, which I have also applied to my use of LinkedIn and social media. I enjoy writing copy and curriculum that is authentic, moves people, and sparks meaningful conversations.
Some tools that I commonly use in my various positions (both full-time and contract) are Articulate Rise, Articulate Storyline, G Suite, Canva, and Relias. I was able to successfully transition from a K-12 teaching position to a corporate instructional design position by utilizing my exceptional writing skills to rewrite my resume for a corporate audience. I also leveraged my interpersonal skills along with my writing skills to create a strong social media presence on LinkedIn by posting about my career change journey on a regular basis. I now enjoy helping other teachers and professionals seeking a career change learn how to use LinkedIn to their advantage on their job hunts, and I am offering my resume writing skills as a service to them as well.
