I am very organized, a good multitasker, and a quick learner. I also have experience working with several CAT tools, but mainly work with Trados.
A little more about me:
I graduated as an English Sworn Translator (English-Spanish) from the School of Law of Universidad de la República, Uruguay, in 2010. In 2013, I moved to Scotland to get my Master’s in Literary Translation as Creative Practice at the University of Edinburgh. It was an enriching experience, both personally and professionally. In 2019, I relocated to Spain to further my education with a Master's in Localization.
My passion for literary translation drove me to become one of the translators of the bilingual catalogs for the International Film Festival of Uruguay (available in Cinemateca Uruguaya's website) starting in 2012. I also have experience in other areas, such as intellectual property -particularly chemical and technical patents-, as well as in simultaneous and consecutive interpreting.
In 2016, I worked in the content area of a mobile game company where, in addition to managing a team of 12, I gained experience in content writing, proofreading, and localization.
I have been working exclusively as a freelance translator as of mid-2017 continuing to work in the legal, technical and literary fields. Over the last four years, I have also gained experience writing blog content for companies, particularly in the IT and language-learning sectors (both technical and general topics).
I am currently pursuing a PhD in Literary Translation.
