I am an inclusive, encouraging, and inspirational teacher who believes in
challenging social paradigms. My course work sets out to explore and discuss the
subjectivity of social lenses and their effects from micro to macro levels including one’s
health, behavior, impact, and future in contemporary society. With use of philosophy,
psychology, study of craft, writing exercises and community readings my student’s gain
an empirical world view as well as build a strong inner foundation to combat issues of
racism, classism, conflict management, LGBTQIA+ challenges, gender roles, mental
health stigma’s, ethnocentrism and much more.
In my teaching I observe the balances in identity as shifting paradigms
throughout one’s life. My students will study these different identities as they evolve(d)
with hopes to learn about their own complexities and celebrate them so that they may
prosper in honing their individual “voices” to change the world.
