What I provide here is a full structural and copy edit.
Structural Editing:
- Editing for logical structure, making sure things are ordered sensibly and in a way that causes no confusion or lulls in reading
- Ensuring there are no missing topics or over discussed / under discussed topics
Copy Editing:
- Ensuring writing follows a concrete style of editing (unless provided a different house style, I follow the Australian-favoured Snooks and co. Styles Manual)
- Checking for accuracy and consistency
- Correcting any grammar, spelling or punctuation issues that may arise
- Ensuring language is appropriate to the intended audience
- Checking for potential legal, discriminatory or defamatory issues
- Checking for accuracy and consistency
! My editing also includes providing feedback through comments to suggest changes in the writing (and why).
NOTE TO CLIENTS:
- All editing is done via Microsoft Word through Track Changes to give you the opportunity to either accept or deny wanted changes to the document.
- Any feedback you disagree with or anywhere you wish to answer my questions, just reply to the comments in the document and send it back to me for revision.

My inclination towards writing and editing began with an intense love of reading. I was fascinated with writing and what made it good: how do all these writers make it look so easy?
My Bachelor of Arts degree back in 2017 (majoring in Professional Writing & Publishing and Creative Writing, of course!) was a fantastic and broadening experience, where words took shape beyond serif and san serif font and became things like:
- How to market your writing
- How to make your writing topical
- How to find that perfect tone
- And how to actually hide those hidden agendas.
Best part? I could take a piece of absolutely shoddy writing and make it clean, eye-grabbing and sparkly.
Words are a split-second thought—but with a bit of research, intuition, technique and precision, they can look like a split-second thought that knew what it was doing from the beginning. And I’m here to offer just that and extra.

Steps for completing your project
After purchasing the project, send requirements so Ashley can start the project.
Delivery time starts when Ashley receives requirements from you.
Ashley works on your project following the steps below.
Revisions may occur after the delivery date.
1. I receive the unedited work from the client.
This will be sent through as a Word doc attachment when the client answers the project requirements.
2. I provide a full edit on the document.
I will edit using Track Changes on MS Word. I will give detailed comments for the client to review if needed. If the client is not wanting Track Changes and just wants a full edit done, then this can be specified when filling out the requirements.
