The Ledger, a weekly with newspapers in 4 cities and owned by the Memphis Daily News, is looking for news and news features freelance writers and photographers in Chattanooga and writers in Knoxville to cover real estate, business, education, government and politics, technology, the environment, community personalities and more in both cities. The Ledger is on news stands in Knoxville and has purchased the Hamilton County Herald, and we are upgrading that paper and website to include a variety of topics on news issues. Looking for writers with news clips but will consider clips from college paper or internship. We don't write breaking news so you must be able to put news in perspective, have knowledgeable sources, understanding of community.
