You will play a crucial role in collaborating with other freelancers to fix and improve our custom business accounting program. Responsibilities: Analyze and assess the existing custom business accounting program built in Google Sheets. Identify areas for improvement in functionality, accuracy, and efficiency. Develop and implement solutions to fix bugs, automate tasks, and enhance overall program performance. Collaborate effectively with other freelancers, including programmers and business analysts, to ensure seamless integration of changes. Maintain strong accounting principles and ensure the program adheres to GAAP or other relevant accounting standards. Prepare clear and concise documentation of program changes and functionality. Stay up-to-date with best practices in Google Sheets and accounting software. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field. Minimum 2 years of experience as an accountant or bookkeeper. Proven expertise in Google Sheets, including advanced formulas, functions, and automation using Apps Script. Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial statements. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a remote setting. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Bonus Points: Experience with other accounting software (QuickBooks, Xero, etc.). Experience in financial modeling and data analysis. Familiarity with cloud-based accounting systems. Location in Minnesota (preferred).
