CMO Mentor & Brand Strategy Advisor — Ongoing Support

I’m the CMO of a growing Australian business in the financial industry and am looking for a highly experienced marketing leader to act as a mentor and strategic advisor. This is an ongoing consulting relationship with regular calls and ad-hoc support.

I have 11+ years of marketing experience (mostly around performance) and operate comfortably at a senior level, but I’m looking for guidance from someone who has led brand-driven organisations at scale and can help me elevate the business and my own capability as a marketing leader especially in an environment where sales is a dominant function.

Areas I Want Mentorship In
- Brand strategy at a deep, organisational level (brand architecture, positioning, narrative development, differentiation)
- Scaling a marketing function inside a sales-led organisation (alignment, influence, cross-functional collaboration)
- Team structure & capability planning (knowing what roles to hire, when, and how to design the org for growth)
- Stakeholder management & executive communication (navigating CEOs, founders, and high-stakes conversations)
- Leadership development (executive presence, influence without authority, decision-making clarity)
- Strategic planning frameworks (building multi-quarter and multi-year roadmaps for marketing)
- Balancing brand and performance in a lean business

Ideal Mentor Background
- Former CMO, VP Marketing, or Head of Brand at a well-known or brand-led organisation
- 15–25+ years of experience
- Has built and scaled marketing teams
- Has worked directly with or alongside sales-led structures and different organisational departments
- Strong understanding of how brand strategy drives commercial outcomes
- Experience mentoring or coaching senior marketing leaders and enjoys helping other marketing leaders elevate to the next stage
