Machine Learning Engineer/Data Scientist Required to Build a Predictive Model

JOB SUMMARY
I’m seeking a Machine Learning Engineer/Data Scientist to complete an in-progress Data-Driven Business-Prediction project.   Optionally, you’ll also be able to build a server/client app (Web or iOS).

The core of the project is to develop a predictive multinomial logit model, and identify the input variables that yield the most accurate and reliable predictions.   As indicated, much of this work has already been completed, but our head technologist is retiring from the project.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
* Create a predictive, multinomial logit model for data-driven decision making.

* Identify - with machine learning – the optimal blend of input variables to the model, so that it yields the most accurate and reliable predictions.

* Test the model against a large dataset of historical data.

* Test the model by predicting the outcome of future events with a very high degree of accuracy.

* OPTIONAL:  develop an app (iOS or Web) and associated back-end, so that output from the model can be utilised by the end-user.

* Ensure the successful delivery of the project according to agreed timelines and specifications.

EXPERIENCE
* Strong skills and experience in data science, machine learning, mathematics, data scraping/mining, databases

* Proficiency in relevant technologies, such as:

Python (BeautifulSoup, Selenium), Scrapy
SQL/PostgreSQL
MongoDB
AWS Lambda, Google Cloud, Heroku or a dedicated backend (Node.js/Python)
TensorFlow, Scikit-learn, or PyTorch
XGBoost
Neural Networks
Starscream WebSocket
Python Flask API

* Experience with predictive modelling (specifically multinomial logit) and statistical analysis

* OPTIONAL:  familiarity with iOS (Swift) or Web app development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, frameworks like React), and cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, etc.)

* EXCELLENT COMMUNICATION SKILLS and the ability to work independently.   The stake-holders require updates at least three times a week.

* INTEGRITY:  you actually do what you say you'll do, and provide evidence to that effect.

* A keen eye for detail and problem-solving skills

* Willingness to sign a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) due to the sensitive nature of the project.

PROJECT TIMELINE
* This is a short-term freelance project with an expected duration of six weeks, negotiable.

* Deliverables must be completed and submitted by the end of this agreed timeframe.
