NYC-Based Producer/Writer (Musical TV Series) Needed for Pitch Review ($100)
Worldwide
Hello,
Requirement: This project is based in New York City. While this initial review can be done remotely, the long-term goal is to build a local NYC-based team. Please only apply if you are currently based in the NYC metro area.
I'm seeking an experienced TV producer or writer with a strong background in musical theater or musical comedy for a small, critical test project.
I am developing a 30-minute TV series titled "JEWISH: The Sitcom."
IMPORTANT: This is not a standard sitcom. It is a musical-first series. The plot is told primarily through music, with original songs and dance numbers making up approximately 80% of the runtime. Think "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend" or "Schmigadoon!"
The project explores modern Jewish life through this unique musical lens. I am now preparing pitch materials (pitch deck, bible, and song demos) to present to investors and studios, specifically targeting entities like Reboot Studios.
The "Test" Job (This $100 Project):
This is a small, paid "test" project. I am asking you to:
Read my 1-2 page concept/synopsis (which explains the musical format).
Listen to 1-2 of the project's demo songs (I will provide these).
Provide 3-page of professional, honest written feedback.
In your feedback, I am looking for answers to:
Does this musical-series concept feel unique and marketable?
What is the biggest challenge in pitching a show where music is 80% of the content?
What are your top 2-3 pieces of advice for strengthening this pitch?
The Long-Term Goal (The Big Picture):
Please understand: The $100 budget is only for this initial review.
My real goal is not just to get feedback. I am looking for a future key partner (a potential Showrunner or Executive Producer) who understands both narrative television and musical theater, and who is based here in NYC.
If we work well together on this test job and you are passionate about the concept, you will be the first candidate I offer this major, fully-paid role to once we secure funding.
This is an opportunity to join a unique project at the ground floor.
(Note: Knowledge of the Russian language is a significant plus, as some source material may be in Russian, but it is not a requirement.)
How to Apply:
Please do not send a generic proposal. In your cover letter, please:
Confirm that you are based in the New York City area.
Briefly describe your experience with musicals (on stage or screen).
Share why this specific concept ("JEWISH: The Sitcom") caught your interest. You can find more details on JewishTheSitcom .com
Thank you!
- A 3-page (minimum) written feedback document (Google Doc, Word, or PDF).
- The document must provide a professional analysis answering all the specific questions outlined in the job description (feedback on marketability, challenges, and actionable advice).
