Cartographer/Map Designer

I LOVE maps and I am an Adobe Illustrator map guru!! I have a geography degree and over 25 years of experience working as a cartographer in a professional setting with Adobe Creative Suite. I currently work at Rick Steves' Europe as a Graphics Production Specialist working on maps, graphics and images in the European guidebooks. I have a thorough knowledge of Adobe CS and have done hundreds of maps for textbook publishers, travel guides, magazines and individual authors. You can find my maps in textbooks for McGraw-Hill, Prentice Hall, Bedford/St. Martin's, and National Geographic to name a few and travel guides such as Rick Steves' Europe, Countryman Press and Fodor's . I have the research materials, the cartographic bases, and the knowledge to get your job done quickly and correctly. The information in my maps is not traced from another source. For most jobs I am able to put in the desired coordinates and then the computer program I use is able to correctly draw the coastline, lakes and rivers necessary for that area. This saves an extraordinary amount of time and allows more time in the creative process of your maps. If I don't have the necessary info for the job I will reach out and ask you about a certain look you are going for: fonts, colors, type, etc. I will work with you on several drafts until YOU are happy with the final product!
