Reducing carpet toxins from polluting your home.
Clean your carpets thoroughly and regularly – Hire a professional carpet cleaning company that uses environmentally friendly cleaning agents and that has a strong rating. Remember, not all carpet cleaning companies and cleaning agents are the same. Who you choose to clean your carpets will have a huge impact on keeping your carpets and household pollutant free.
Use air purifier – Most of the toxins found in your carpets end up circulating in the air flowing throughout your home. A good air purifier will help to filter out the toxins tat get stirred up into your air
Research your carpet brands – for new carpet being installed in your home, make sure to research what VOCs ( Volatile Organic Compounds ) are present.
Who is at risk the most?
Toddlers and you ng children are at risk the most of coming in contact with pollutants found in our carpets. Why? The answer is simple. Because they are closer to the floor. Toddlers actually crawl around on their hands and feet and constantly put their fingers directly into their mouths. There is not a more direct route for exposure to these pollutants than this.
