Book Editor and KDP Publishing Specialist Needed — Living Yohaku Target Publication Date: November 11, 2026 We are looking for an experienced book editor and publishing specialist to help us prepare our existing book, Living Yohaku, for publication on Amazon Kindle and paperback. Our target publication date is November 11, 2026. The book is already written. We are not looking for someone to write a book from scratch. We need someone who can look at the book from both a reader’s perspective and a marketing perspective and help us make it clearer, more compelling, strategically structured, and connected to our services. Because we have a firm publication date, we are looking for someone who can start immediately and manage the project through to final KDP-ready files. About the Book Living Yohaku is about a Japanese way of living light. The central idea is: What can I remove from my life so I can create more space for what genuinely matters? The book explores how removing what is unnecessary can create more space, clarity, energy, appreciation, and meaning in everyday life. The philosophy can be applied to: Body and wellness Food and lifestyle Home Work and business Relationships Time and money Personal renewal and retreats Book Genre and Positioning Primary: Personal Growth and Personal Transformation Secondary: Mindful Living and Intentional Living Distinctive angle: Japanese Lifestyle Philosophy and Aesthetics Supporting themes: Simplicity, Wellness, Slow Living, Self-Awareness, and Living with Less This is not a traditional self-help book, diet book, fitness book, or academic book about Japanese culture. At its heart, Living Yohaku is a premium personal-growth and mindful-living book inspired by the Japanese concept of Yohaku, meaning space, emptiness, and room for what matters. The book combines personal transformation with a distinctly Japanese approach to living: less unnecessary consumption, less mental noise, more awareness, appreciation, simplicity, and space. The editor should approach the manuscript as a premium personal-growth and mindful-living book with a Japanese philosophical and lifestyle perspective. The goal is for the reader to feel and experience the philosophy, not simply learn a collection of techniques. Desired Tone Elegant Experiential Thoughtful Intimate Philosophical Practical Modern Japanese-inspired The visual and editorial experience should feel closer to a luxury wellness and lifestyle brand than a conventional self-help book. What We Need You To Do 1. Editorial Review and Editing Review the existing manuscript and improve: Flow and structure Clarity Readability English grammar and naturalness Repetition Chapter transitions Reader engagement Overall positioning We want to preserve the author's voice and philosophy, rather than rewriting the book into generic marketing language. We need an editor who can give honest feedback when something is confusing, repetitive, unnecessary, or not strong enough. 2. Turn the Book Into a Marketing Funnel This is a very important part of the project. The book should not simply end when the reader reaches the final page. We want to strategically connect the book to our paid programs, services, retreats, and online offerings without making the book feel like a sales brochure. You will help identify: Where CTAs should appear What the reader should do next Where we can introduce our methodology How to naturally move a reader from book to interest to trust to action What additional pages or sections should be included How to make the book generate leads for our services The desired journey is: Read the book, experience the philosophy, recognize a personal need, and want to explore Living Yohaku further. The marketing should feel natural, sophisticated, and premium, not aggressive. 3. Kindle Edition Prepare the final book for Amazon Kindle and KDP. This includes: Proper Kindle formatting Clickable table of contents Chapter navigation Clean typography Correct spacing and page breaks Images and graphics positioned correctly Front matter and back matter Links and CTAs Final quality control The finished file should be ready for Kindle publishing. 4. Paperback Edition Prepare the book for Amazon KDP paperback publishing. This includes: Professional interior layout Page size and margins Typography Headers and footers Page numbers Chapter openings Front and back matter Print-ready PDF Proper bleed and margins where required We want the paperback to look like a professionally published premium book, not an amateur self-published book. 5. KDP Publishing Support Ideally, you should also have experience with: Amazon KDP Kindle publishing Paperback publishing ISBN considerations Book metadata Categories Keywords Book description Book positioning Amazon listing optimization Experience optimizing an Amazon book listing for discoverability and conversion is a major plus. IMPORTANT: Timeline Target Amazon publication date: November 11, 2026 We have approximately 8 weeks from the start of this project to publication. The selected freelancer should be able to: September Review the manuscript Provide editorial recommendations Complete the first editing pass Identify structural and marketing improvements October Complete final editing Integrate marketing funnel elements and CTAs Finalize book design and interior layout Prepare Kindle and paperback versions Complete proofreading and quality control Early November Finalize KDP files Finalize metadata and book description Upload and review proof Make any necessary corrections Ensure everything is ready for the November 11 launch We would like to have final files ready several days before November 11 so there is enough time for final KDP checks and corrections. Please do not apply if you cannot commit to this timeline. Ideal Candidate We are looking for someone with most or all of the following: Professional nonfiction book editing experience Native-level English Experience editing personal growth, wellness, mindfulness, lifestyle, or philosophy books Strong understanding of storytelling and reader psychology Experience creating or supporting marketing funnels Kindle and KDP formatting experience Paperback book layout experience Strong design sense Ability to maintain a premium and luxury aesthetic Excellent attention to detail Ability to give strategic feedback, not simply follow instructions Available to start immediately Able to work toward a firm November 11 publication deadline Marketing experience is particularly important. We don't just want a formatter. We want someone who can look at the entire book and say: This is where the reader is becoming interested. This is where they need more context. This is where we should introduce the next step. And this is where the CTA will feel natural. Deliverables Final deliverables should include: 1. Professionally edited manuscript 2. Final Kindle-ready file 3. Final paperback interior PDF 4. Source and editable files 5. Professionally formatted front matter and back matter 6. Strategically integrated CTAs 7. Recommendations for improving the book as a lead-generation funnel 8. KDP publishing guidance 9. Amazon book description and metadata recommendations 10. Final quality-control review before publication When Applying Please include: 1. Two or three examples of nonfiction books you have edited or formatted. 2. Examples of Kindle and paperback books you have prepared for KDP. 3. Briefly explain how you would turn a book into a marketing funnel without making it feel overly promotional. 4. Tell us which areas you are strongest in: Editing Book structure Marketing and funnel strategy Kindle formatting Paperback formatting KDP publishing 5. Your estimated timeline and fixed project rate. 6. Tell us how you would approach editing a book that combines personal growth with Japanese philosophy and lifestyle. 7. Confirm that you can meet the November 11, 2026 publication deadline. Please do not send a generic proposal. We are looking for someone who can take ownership of the project, bring strong editorial judgment, and help us turn an existing manuscript into a beautiful, credible book that also becomes a strategic entry point into our brand and services. We would prefer to build a long-term relationship with the right person for future books and publishing projects.
