Chrome Extension Developer Needed – CAPTCHA Workflow & Browser Automation Integration

We have an existing browser-based system that works with the practical driving test website: During normal use, the website occasionally presents an Imperva visual verification challenge, such as identifying specific objects/items from a grid of images. Currently, we experimented with using Gemini Vision/API-based image analysis, but API usage becomes expensive at scale. We are looking for a developer to build a more sustainable Chrome extension workflow that integrates with our existing system while keeping CAPTCHA verification user-assisted rather than relying on paid vision APIs. The extension should detect when a verification challenge appears, pause the automated workflow, clearly notify the user, bring the CAPTCHA window into focus, allow the user to complete the verification manually, detect when verification has successfully completed, and then automatically resume our system. We would also like the developer to improve reliability around browser sessions, page-state detection, retries, tab/window handling, and communication between the Chrome extension and our existing software. Main Requirements - Strong experience building Chrome Extensions - JavaScript / TypeScript - DOM and page-state detection - Content scripts and background/service workers - Detect when the Imperva verification interface appears - Automatically pause our workflow when verification is required - Notify/focus the correct browser tab for the operator - Detect successful verification and resume the workflow - Support multiple browser tabs/windows where practical - Local communication between our software and the Chrome extension - Reliable error handling and session recovery - Clean, maintainable source code that we can integrate into our existing system We are specifically looking for a permanent, locally integrated solution rather than continuously paying external AI/image-recognition APIs. Please include examples of Chrome extensions or browser-automation systems you have previously built. Also explain how you would structure the communication between the extension and our existing application.
