Financial Model Audit

Fixed Income Financial Model Validation & Bloomberg Integration Review I am looking for an experienced fixed income / quantitative finance professional to independently review and validate an existing financial model used for pricing long-dated investment cash flows. The model has already been built. This is primarily a model validation and Bloomberg integration review, rather than a model build from scratch. What the model does The model takes a series of contractual cash flows over a defined investment period and: * Projects the cash flows between specified start and end dates * Applies inflation/indexation using an inflation curve * Calculates investment IRR * Calculates Weighted Average Life (WAL) * Calculates duration * Calculates pricing/spread against: * UK nominal Gilts * UK index-linked Gilts * SONIA / swap curve * Selects the relevant market benchmark based on the transaction’s WAL / maturity profile * Uses Bloomberg-sourced market data for inflation, SONIA/swaps and Gilt pricing/yields Scope of work I need someone to independently review the model in two areas. 1. Bloomberg and market data integration Review how the model connects to Bloomberg and confirm that: * Bloomberg formulas/API links are correctly configured * Market inputs update correctly when Bloomberg data refreshes * The correct inflation curve is being used * The correct SONIA / swap curve is being used * Nominal and index-linked Gilt data are being pulled correctly * The appropriate benchmark maturity or interpolation methodology is being used when comparing against the investment WAL * Bloomberg identifiers, fields, dates and conventions are appropriate * There are no stale, hard-coded or incorrectly referenced market inputs * The model behaves correctly when refreshed on a different valuation date 2. Financial model validation Independently check the underlying calculations and methodology, including: * Cash-flow timing and date calculations * Inflation/indexation calculations * Compounding conventions * IRR calculation * Weighted Average Life calculation * Duration calculation and the specific duration methodology being applied * Discounting methodology * Nominal Gilt spread calculation * Index-linked Gilt spread calculation * SONIA / swap spread calculation * Interpolation between points on market curves where required * Treatment of nominal versus real cash flows * Day-count conventions and timing assumptions * Any other assumptions that could materially affect pricing outputs I would like the reviewer to recalculate key outputs independently, rather than simply reviewing Excel formulas, so that we can establish whether the model produces the correct economic result. Deliverables The final output should include: 1. A reviewed version of the model identifying any errors or required changes. 2. A short validation report explaining: * What was tested * Whether each calculation is correct * Any errors identified * Any methodological issues or assumptions that should be changed * Any Bloomberg integration issues 3. Independent calculation/checks for a sample transaction demonstrating that the model’s IRR, WAL, duration and benchmark spreads reconcile. 4. Recommended corrections for any issues identified. Experience required This assignment is best suited to someone with experience in areas such as: * Fixed income / private credit / infrastructure debt / long-income investing * Bond or liability pricing * Bloomberg Terminal / Bloomberg Excel Add-In / BDP, BDH, BDS or Bloomberg APIs * UK Gilts and index-linked Gilts * SONIA and GBP swap curves * Inflation-linked cash flows * Yield curve construction/interpolation * IRR, duration and WAL calculations * Excel financial model auditing CFA, actuarial, quantitative finance, fixed income trading/pricing or institutional investment experience would be particularly relevant. Please do not apply if your experience is primarily general Excel modelling. I need someone who understands the underlying fixed income mathematics and can independently validate whether the pricing methodology is economically correct. When applying Please briefly explain: * Your experience with Bloomberg-linked financial models * Your experience pricing fixed income or long-dated cash flows * Whether you have worked with UK Gilts, index-linked Gilts and SONIA/swaps * How you would independently validate IRR, WAL, duration and spread calculations * An example of a similar model validation or pricing assignment you have completed
