Healthtech Engineer/Technical Lead — EHR/FHIR, HIPAA, AI

We’re an early-stage U.S.-based healthtech startup building SNF Sync, an AI-enabled clinical documentation workflow for nurses in skilled nursing facilities. We currently have a functional demo and access to PointClickCare’s USCDI-FHIR developer environment. We’re looking for an experienced healthtech engineer/technical lead to help us move from demo to a real technical POC/MVP. We need help with: - technical architecture and backend design - EHR/EMR integration, especially FHIR/HL7 - PointClickCare developer/sandbox integration secure handling of PHI in a HIPAA-sensitive environment - AI/LLM workflow integration - nurse review/approval workflow - deciding what should be built, mocked, integrated, or deferred for the POC -clear technical documentation and code handoff Ideal experience: - prior U.S. healthcare or healthtech software development - hands-on EHR/EMR integration experience - FHIR/HL7 - backend/full-stack development - HIPAA/PHI-sensitive systems - AI/LLM healthcare workflows - ability to independently own architecture and hands-on coding PointClickCare, skilled nursing/post-acute care, or clinical documentation experience is a strong plus. We are early-stage and budget-conscious, so we’re looking for a practical, tightly scoped initial engagement rather than a full production build. Please include a brief example of relevant healthcare integration work you’ve personally done and what scope/timeline you would recommend for a technical POC at our stage. Worldwide applicants are welcome, but experience with U.S. healthcare environments and meaningful overlap with U.S. Eastern Time are strongly preferred.
