Interior Designer Screening Task

We are a space design consultancy based in Seoul. We are building a small group of freelance interior designers to work with us on a project basis, and we start every working relationship the same way: a short, paid screening task with published scoring criteria. WHAT YOU WILL DO - Draw one furnished floor-plan layout for a fictional 120 m² ground-floor corner unit (a members' lounge for a bike-share operator). - Write a zoning note of up to 150 words explaining your placement decisions. - Deliverables: 1 furnished plan at 1:50 on A3, fully dimensioned in millimetres, with zone names, areas, north arrow and scale bar — as PDF (1 page) + DWG (AutoCAD 2018 format); zoning note on page 2 of the same PDF. - The site is described in writing only (dimensions, columns, glazing, core, doors). No drawing is attached; setting out the plan from the written brief is part of the task. TIMING - 72 hours from the moment we send you the brief in the contract workroom. One 24-hour extension is possible if you ask before the deadline. HOW WE SCORE (100 points, 70 passes) - Zoning and circulation logic: 35 - Dimensions, clearances, accessibility: 30 - Drawing discipline (scale, dimension strings, layers, line weights): 20 - Brief compliance and on-time delivery: 15 Everyone who submits gets a short written feedback note within 10 business days, pass or not. TERMS - Fixed price USD 36, the same for every participant, paid through Upwork on approval of the milestone for a complete submission — whether or not you pass. - This is a fictional brief. Nothing you draw will be used commercially. You keep the copyright of your submission and grant us the right to keep it internally for evaluation. You may show it in your portfolio as "screening task for a fictional project". - Please do not share the brief while the screening is open. - Passing leads to an invitation to a paid pilot project under a separate fixed-price contract with a written scope. It is not a promise of further work. BEFORE YOU APPLY - Attach or link 2–3 drawings you drew yourself (plans, elevations or details — not renders). Project names and clients may be blacked out. - We will ask shortlisted applicants for a 15-minute video call in Upwork Messages, during which you open one of your own DWG or SKP files and walk us through it. We work in AutoCAD-compatible DWG for 2D and SketchUp for 3D. English is our working language.
