Job Title: Full-Stack Developer to Build a Local Marketplace Web App (Next.js + Supabase + Stripe) Project Overview I'm building The Downsize Board, a local marketplace web app for people downsizing or decluttering — a bulletin board where people post items and local services as "for sale," "wanted," "offering," or "seeking," with area-based search, a personal wishlist that flags matching listings, and simple posting-fee monetization (no auctions, and the platform never processes the transaction itself). A working prototype already exists with the full data model, UI, and user flows proven out, so you won't be starting from a blank page — I'll share it with you. I need a developer to take that concept and build it into a real, production-ready web application. Scope of Work • Real user accounts with email or phone verification (replacing the prototype's placeholder display names) • A production database (Supabase or Firebase preferred) modeling listings (items & services), user profiles, and a private per-user wishlist • Hosting on Vercel or Netlify, connected to a custom domain • Stripe integration for a simple posting fee (pay-per-post and unlimited-monthly plans) — no payment processing between buyers and sellers themselves • A referral program: unique per-user referral codes/links, attribution locked permanently at signup, and a free-listing credit triggered only by the referred user's first paid post (via a Stripe webhook) — never by a self-reported claim • Image upload/storage for listings — strip EXIF/location metadata from every photo before storing it (phones embed GPS coordinates in photos by default, which would otherwise quietly leak a seller's home address) • Area, category, and condition filtering and search • A basic admin dashboard for removing listings, reviewing reports, and banning users • Mobile-responsive design — most usage will be on phones • Error monitoring (e.g. Sentry) in place before launch Tech Preferences Open to your recommended stack, but Next.js + Supabase (or Firebase) + Stripe + Vercel is the expected shape of this build. Budget & Timeline Fixed-price preferred. Open to discussing hourly for the right person with strong marketplace-app experience.
