Job Title: Senior SAP ABAP Developer EWM and TM Focus Location: Remote  Job Type: Full-time About Us   We are a specialized consultancy focusing strictly on SAP EWM, TM, and GTS modules. We are currently recruiting a dedicated SAP ABAP Developer to join a brownfield S/4HANA 2023 Private Cloud implementation project for a major pharmaceutical client. The project is heavily into the testing and bug-fixing phase, with go-live planned for the first couple of months of next year. Your primary objective will be bridging the gap between legacy ECC 6.0 custom code and modern S/4HANA architecture while adhering strictly to Clean Core principles. Key Responsibilities Drive the full cycle of custom code migration from legacy SAP ECC to S/4HANA 2023 Private Cloud using the ABAP Test Cockpit ATC and readiness checks. Execute SPDD and SPAU migrations to ensure all dictionary objects and standard SAP modifications are correctly adapted during the system upgrade. Refactor outdated developments, specifically converting legacy Batch Data Communication BDC scripts and obsolete function modules into modern BAPIs and Released APIs. Architect and implement robust backend services for Fiori Launchpad by developing OData services, advanced CDS Views, and ABAP Managed Database Procedures AMDP for heavy data queries. Develop, troubleshoot, and optimize enhancements specifically within the Transportation Management TM and Extended Warehouse Management EWM modules. Retrieve and manipulate freight unit and freight order data utilizing the Business Object Processing Framework BOPF standard methods. Enforce the Clean Core strategy by strictly utilizing the ABAP Cloud Steampunk environment, ensuring zero direct modifications to standard tables or implicit enhancements. Design and maintain diverse printing outputs across legacy and modern technologies including SAPscripts, Smartforms, and interactive Adobe Forms. Requirements and Qualifications A minimum of five years of hands-on experience as an SAP ABAP Technical Consultant with direct involvement in S/4HANA brownfield migration projects. Proven technical expertise navigating the distinct table structures and BAPI naming conventions inherent to SAP TM and EWM modules, which differ significantly from standard ERP modules. Deep understanding of the BOPF architecture, specifically mastering standard methods for query and retrieve by association. Advanced mastery of Core ABAP performance tuning, explicitly optimizing FOR ALL ENTRIES statements to prevent catastrophic full database scans when empty tables are passed. Comprehensive knowledge of ABAP memory management utilizing Field Symbols versus working areas and structures to manipulate internal table values dynamically. Solid grasp of internal table types including Standard, Sorted, and Hashed tables, along with a deep understanding of database Keys versus Indexes. Advanced proficiency in Object-Oriented Programming OOP principles, demonstrating clear architectural boundaries using public, private, and protected attributes. Extensive experience interrupting standard processes to inject custom business logic via standard Business Add-Ins BAdI utilizing transactions SE18 and SE19. Nice to Have Familiarity with the Global Trade Services GTS module to support cross-functional logistics requirements. Practical experience bridging backend OData services with SAP UI5 frontend development to deliver end-to-end Fiori applications. Prior exposure to modern SAP integration middleware tools including Process Integration PI, Cloud Platform Integration CPI, and Business Technology Platform BTP. Experience supporting legacy email and printing workflows utilizing older SAPscript technologies while actively migrating them to modern formats.
