2 Month Project: Part-Time Odoo Configuration and Business Setup Specialist

We are looking for an experienced Odoo specialist to work closely with our project lead over approximately eight weeks. This is a hands-on role involving: Configuring Odoo for our business Testing and validating complete business workflows Setting up add-ons in an OEC.SH test environment Recreating the approved setup in a managed production environment Training and supporting business users Manually migrating operational data into Odoo Improving data quality and organization Creating training videos and configuration documentation The workload is part-time, but the selected specialist must be consistently available, responsive, and able to prioritize this project throughout the engagement. Contract Fixed-price budget: $300–$400 for the complete project Duration: Approximately eight weeks Work arrangement: Part-time Regular meetings with the project lead Expected meeting-time range: 12:00 PM–8:00 PM Mountain Time Occasional meetings may be scheduled earlier or later when required The proposed price must cover the complete project and all deliverables described below. This role requires: Reliable availability for scheduled meetings Punctual attendance Timely responses to questions and feedback Fast implementation of requested changes Consistent progress throughout the eight-week engagement Frequent delays, missed meetings, or late communication will not meet expectations. Environment and Deployment Process The initial test environment will be hosted on OEC.SH. The selected specialist will be responsible for: Setting up and configuring the test environment Installing and troubleshooting required add-ons Creating test records and sample operational data Building realistic test scenarios Testing complete business workflows Confirming that the system works as intended Making rapid changes based on daily feedback from the project lead After the test configuration is fully validated, the production environment will be set up using a managed Odoo service. The test and production environments use different architectures. Configurations cannot be automatically promoted or transferred between them. The selected specialist may need to: Set up the production environment from scratch Install or configure similar add-ons where supported Manually recreate approved modules, workflows, permissions, and settings Confirm that the production setup matches the validated test environment Adjust the production configuration where the managed service operates differently Project Responsibilities Configure required Odoo modules and workflows Install and troubleshoot add-ons in OEC.SH Translate business requirements into working Odoo processes Create test records and realistic test scenarios Validate workflows from beginning to end Make rapid configuration changes based on daily feedback Confirm all configurations are correct before production setup Recreate approved configurations in the managed production environment Train and support business users Manually enter and migrate operational data Review and clean entered data Resolve configuration and user issues Create employee training videos Document the final Odoo configuration Eight-Week Project Process Week 1: Test Environment Setup and Rapid Validation Set up the OEC.SH test environment Install required modules and add-ons Configure the initial business workflows Create test records and sample data Create realistic business test scenarios Test workflows from beginning to end Review the configuration with the project lead Make rapid updates based on daily feedback Confirm that the system works as intended Testing and iteration must move quickly. The goal is to validate the complete configuration and begin production setup no later than the beginning of Week 2. Week 2: Production Environment Setup Set up Odoo in the managed production environment Recreate the approved test configuration from scratch Configure modules, workflows, permissions, and business rules Install or configure supported add-ons Adjust the setup for differences in the managed environment Confirm that production matches the validated test workflows Complete production testing before business users begin working in the system Week 3: Business Training and Deployment Train business users on the configured workflows Support initial deployment and adoption Help users understand how to complete their daily work in Odoo Resolve early configuration and usability issues Begin entering real operational data Weeks 3–4: Manual Data Migration Manually enter operational data into Odoo Organize information within the correct modules and fields Verify records for completeness and accuracy Help establish the production system with real business data Resolve issues identified during data entry Bulk migration will not be used for this phase. The selected specialist must be comfortable performing structured, accurate, and repetitive manual data entry. Weeks 5–6: Cleanup, Support, and Data Hygiene Review entered data for accuracy and consistency Correct duplicate, incomplete, or incorrectly categorized records Improve naming standards and record organization Identify missing information Resolve remaining configuration issues Support business users as they continue adopting the system Confirm that workflows and data remain reliable in production Week 6: Employee Training Videos Create detailed training videos covering: How employees should use each configured module The correct business workflows How to create and update records Common user actions Common mistakes and troubleshooting steps Data maintenance expectations Bulk import options that may be used in the future Relevant administrative processes Videos must be clear enough for current and future employees to follow without live assistance. Weeks 7–8: Configuration Documentation and Final Handoff Document the final production configuration List installed modules and add-ons Document important settings and permissions Explain configured workflows and business rules Record differences between the OEC.SH test environment and managed production environment Document any limitations or required workarounds Explain ongoing maintenance requirements Resolve remaining issues Complete the final project handoff Required Experience Strong hands-on Odoo configuration experience Experience working with OEC.SH Experience installing and troubleshooting Odoo add-ons Experience with managed Odoo hosting environments Ability to recreate configurations across separate environments Ability to translate business requirements into Odoo workflows Experience creating test records and business test scenarios Ability to test complete workflows and identify issues Ability to implement daily feedback quickly Strong attention to detail during manual data entry Ability to create clear training videos and configuration documentation Strong written and spoken communication Reliable availability during the expected Mountain Time meeting range
