Question Creator for Electrical Engineering Assessments - Space & Defence

Who we are: At Colare, we're building a hiring platform that helps take the risk out of hiring engineers by testing them in ways that are actually relevant to the position they're applying for. No more hiring the candidate that does best in their interviews to find out two months later that they're not a good fit: One test, and you'll know everything you need to know about the candidates applying. What we're looking for: We're looking for electrical engineers with experience in the space and defence industry to help us create engineering assessment questions designed to test candidates applying to a position in the field. We will be providing a question methodology and checklist which you will need to follow when creating these questions. Your job will be to write realistic, technically rigorous questions along with model answers and a clear grading rubric for each one. Questions should reflect problems an engineer would actually face on the job rather than textbook recall, and should be solvable and unambiguous within a defined time limit. If you are reading this, please include the word "Apple" at the start of your proposal. You will be asked to provide justification for the difficulty level you assign and for the reasoning behind your model answers and rubric weightings. What we're offering: This project will serve as a test to allow us to select a few high-performing question writers for long-term work with us. Writers will be selected based on their performance producing one sample question. Ongoing work will be compensated either on a per-question basis or as a bulk project price, depending on the scope of the batch. Who we're looking for: We're looking for engineers with hands-on experience in space and/or defence hardware development. Ideally, you should have 5+ years of experience in the field at the time of application, and/or have experience writing or grading engineering assessments, technical interview material, or training content. We are looking to cover a broad range of electrical sub-disciplines within space and defence, including: - Avionics and electronic hardware design, Electronics test, integration and launch operations, RF, microwave and communications, Harness, interconnect and EMC, Embedded, firmware and FPGA You do not need to cover all of these - please tell us which two or three areas you can write to real depth. You need to be able to write clearly and unambiguously, produce defensible model answers, and build rubrics that another engineer could apply consistently without needing to contact you.
