Senior UX/Product Auditor Needed — Consumer AI Mobile App | 4–6 Hour Expert Review

Summary

We are preparing to launch INTALOOM, a new AI-powered relationship intelligence mobile app, and I am looking for an experienced senior UX/product designer or UX researcher to conduct a fresh-eyes audit of the native iOS experience before launch. INTALOOM helps people develop a deeper understanding of themselves and their relationships. A user builds an Inner Ecosystem — an AI-generated understanding of who they are — and can then use this across different relationship contexts, including romance, friendship and collaboration, as well as discovering and understanding potential connections. The product is functional and in pre-launch development. This engagement is not primarily QA or bug testing, and I am not looking for a visual/UI redesign at this stage. I want someone experienced in consumer product UX to approach INTALOOM as a completely new user who has had no explanation of how it works, and assess the experience from that perspective. What I want you to evaluate Please experience the app naturally from first opening it, rather than approaching it as a checklist. I want to understand: Do you understand what INTALOOM is and why you would use it? Is it obvious what you should do next at each stage? Where do you hesitate, become confused or lose interest? Does the information architecture make sense? Are terminology and labels intuitive to someone unfamiliar with the product? Does the product ask the user to understand too much too early? Are there unnecessary steps, screens or decisions? Is information presented at the right moment? Where could progressive disclosure improve the experience? Are important actions or moments buried? Does the navigation behave as you expect? Where does the experience feel repetitive? Where does cognitive load become too high? Are there places where the product explains itself unnecessarily rather than allowing the experience to be intuitive? What feels compelling or distinctive and should not be lost through simplification? Where do you see opportunities to make the journey significantly more intuitive, fluid and engaging? Please also pay attention to the overall emotional rhythm of the experience — where curiosity builds, where momentum is created, and where that momentum is interrupted. Key user journey I would like you to experience as much of the current native journey as possible, including: First open → account creation/onboarding → creating an Inner Ecosystem → exploring the Inner Ecosystem → perspectives/lenses → Discovery → viewing another person → connection/relationship experience → profile/settings. Some pre-launch functionality may still be incomplete. That is fine. I will identify any known technical limitations before the audit so you don't spend your time investigating known development issues. What this is NOT This is not primarily a software QA assignment. Of course, if you encounter a significant bug or something that prevents the user journey from working, please note it. However, I am not looking for a report dominated by broken links, device compatibility, technical regression testing, pixel-level inconsistencies or generic accessibility checklists. I am specifically looking for someone who can think at the level of: product experience, user behaviour, information architecture, cognitive load, navigation, hierarchy, interaction design and simplification. I am also not asking you to redesign the entire product. I want an expert diagnosis first. Deliverable I expect approximately 4–6 hours of hands-on product review, followed by a concise, useful audit rather than a huge generic presentation. The final audit should include: What currently works well and should be protected Key friction/confusion points Unnecessary complexity Unnecessary screens, steps or interactions Information or functionality appearing at the wrong stage Terminology or labels that are difficult to understand Navigation/information-architecture issues Duplication or repetition Opportunities for progressive disclosure Moments where the user journey loses momentum Your highest-impact simplification opportunities Annotated screenshots or screen recordings where useful A suggested simplified high-level user journey Recommendations prioritized roughly as high / medium / low impact I would particularly value recommendations that explain why something creates friction rather than simply prescribing a different design. At the end of the audit, I would also like a 30–45 minute video call to walk through your findings and discuss the highest-impact changes. Testing environment The audit will be conducted on the native iOS application via Apple TestFlight, not the web application. TestFlight access will be provided once the engagement begins. Who I'm looking for You should have strong experience in consumer mobile product UX, ideally including early-stage or pre-launch products. Experience with any of the following would be particularly useful: AI products, social products, dating/relationship products, community platforms, consumer subscription apps or products involving relatively complex information that needs to feel simple. I'm looking for someone who is comfortable challenging the existing product rather than simply polishing it. Important application requirement Please attach or link to an example of an actual UX audit you have previously delivered. A redacted/anonymised example is completely fine. Applications consisting primarily of a generic agency pitch or a list of QA/testing services are unlikely to be a fit. Timing & budget This is a small, focused initial engagement, not an ongoing redesign contract. Estimated effort: 4–6 hours of product review plus preparation of findings and a 30–45 minute debrief call. Budget: approximately US$300–$500 fixed price, depending on experience and the quality/depth of previous work. There is potential for further UX/product work following the audit, but this assignment is intentionally being kept independent so that the initial assessment remains objective.
