Customer Discovery & Targeted Outreach — U.S. Pool Management I’m conducting customer discovery research for a potential SaaS product in the U.S. pool management/service industry. I’m looking for a freelancer who can find, qualify, and personally reach out to specific pool-management professionals and help get qualified people onto a 15-minute discovery call with me. Who We’re Looking For Small U.S.-based pool management/service businesses, generally: Managing approximately 3–30 pools Employing approximately 1–8 people Owners, operators, managers, or people involved in day-to-day operations Able to discuss the challenges and problems involved in running the business The exact numbers may not always be publicly available, so good research and judgment are important. What You’ll Do Your job is essentially: Find → Qualify → Reach Out → Follow Up → Book Call → Document You will: Find potential prospects through multiple online channels Determine whether they appear to fit the target profile Send personalized, respectful outreach Follow up appropriately Track conversations in an Excel CRM Get interested/qualified prospects to commit to a 15-minute call with me Provide clear notes when handing a prospect over Possible channels include Facebook, Craigslist, LinkedIn, Instagram, directories, forums, industry websites, and other relevant communities. I am more interested in finding where these professionals actually spend time online than simply using a predetermined list of platforms. Important: This Is NOT a Spam Campaign The objective is customer discovery, not selling a product. I want someone who can identify the right people and start genuine conversations. Please do not: Mass-message random people Spam groups Misrepresent yourself or the reason for contacting someone Invent information Pressure people into taking a call Conduct the actual product discovery interview If someone wants detailed information about the potential product, pricing, or business idea, simply record their questions and hand the conversation back to me. What I’ll Measure The initial goal is approximately 12–20 qualified discovery calls, but I understand that this requires building a quality pipeline first. I’ll evaluate the work based on: Quality of prospects Accuracy of qualification Quality of outreach Response rate Interested prospects Calls booked Quality of CRM data The Ideal Freelancer You don't need to be a traditional salesperson. You do need to be good at: Internet research Finding hard-to-find niche professionals Lead generation Social media/community research Personalized outreach Qualification Follow-up Organization and CRM tracking Experience finding local service businesses, contractors, home-service companies, pool companies, landscaping companies, HVAC companies, etc. is a plus. The ideal person can take a profile like: "Find small U.S. pool-management businesses with 3–30 pools and 1–8 employees." …and independently figure out where to find them, how to verify them, and how to start a relevant conversation.
