Video Editing Godzilla/Dinosaurs/Sci-Fi

I’m looking for a long-term YouTube video editor for my channel, primarily focused on Godzilla/kaiju content, powerscaling, character analysis, versus debates, and similar video essays. My videos are generally around 15–30 minutes long, with most being approximately 20–25 minutes. I will provide the completed voiceover/audio and script. Your job will be to turn that into a finished, engaging YouTube video. The editing style is commentary/video essay based. This includes movie/TV footage, images, screenshots, statements from novels/comics/source material, text on screen, occasional memes, sound effects, zooms, transitions, music, and other visuals to keep the video engaging. One important thing about my videos: they frequently discuss very specific scenes, feats, statements, and pieces of evidence. For example, the narration might say: “Ghidorah was able to survive Godzilla’s nuclear-amped atomic breath.” In a situation like this, I do NOT want completely random footage of Godzilla fighting Ghidorah. I would want the actual scene being discussed — Godzilla firing his atomic breath at Ghidorah during that specific fight. However, you are NOT expected to already know every Godzilla movie, character, feat, statement, or piece of lore. For portions of the video where a very specific visual is required, I will provide the necessary footage, screenshot, statement, source, or instructions. I may include timestamps/notes explaining exactly when I want a particular asset used. For more general portions of the video, I want the editor to have creative freedom to choose appropriate B-roll, footage, images, memes, transitions, etc. Essentially, I handle the research, arguments, script, voiceover, and specialized evidence, while I need an editor who can handle the majority of the actual visual editing. What I’m looking for: • Strong pacing and an understanding of modern YouTube editing • Ability to match visuals closely with what is being discussed • Experience editing commentary, video essays, gaming, anime, movies, powerscaling, or similar content is a major plus • Comfortable working with movie clips, screenshots, text, graphics, memes, music, and sound effects • Able to make screenshots/statements visually interesting through zooming, highlighting relevant text, movement, etc. • Good communication and willingness to ask questions if an instruction or reference is unclear • Able to follow an existing editing style rather than completely reinventing the format • Reliability and reasonable turnaround times Knowledge of Godzilla/MonsterVerse/kaiju media is a HUGE plus, but it is NOT required. I care much more about whether you are a good editor, can follow directions, and are willing to learn the style of the channel. I have numerous existing videos that I can provide as references. I want you to study them to understand things such as: • How frequently visuals change • How movie footage is used • How statements/screenshots are presented • When memes or sound effects are appropriate • How serious explanations are visually presented • The overall pacing and personality of the channel I am specifically looking for someone LONG TERM. This is not intended to be a single-video job. If we work well together, I would like to continue using the same editor for future uploads. My goal is for the editor to gradually become familiar enough with my channel that I do not have to give extremely detailed instructions for every video. Initially, there may be more feedback/revisions while you learn my style. Over time, I want the workflow to become much easier for both of us. Budget: approximately $100 per completed video, with some flexibility depending on the length and complexity of the project. I am open to paying slightly more for the right person, especially if the quality is strong and we develop a reliable long-term working relationship. I understand that my budget may be more suitable for a newer/intermediate editor, and I am completely fine with working with someone who is building their portfolio as long as they can produce good work. Before committing to a full 20–25 minute video, I would prefer to start with a short PAID editing test using approximately 60–90 seconds of one of my voiceovers. This will allow both of us to see if your editing style matches what I am looking for. I am looking for someone who actually watches/listens to the video, understands what is being said, and deliberately chooses visuals that correspond with the narration. I am hoping to find an editor who can become a consistent part of the channel and take a large portion of the editing workload off of me while still maintaining the style and quality of my current videos.
