Backup and Disaster Recovery Planning • Project Title: AWS Automated Encrypted Backup Strategy & Ransomware Recovery Testing • Description: We need a Cloud Engineer to design and implement an automated backup and disaster recovery (DR) solution for our AWS environment (EC2 instances and PostgreSQL RDS databases). Requirements: o Provisioning automated daily/weekly snapshots using AWS Backup with cross-region replication to a secondary AWS region. o Configuring lifecycle policies to transition older backups to AWS S3 Glacier Flexible Retrieval to optimize costs. o Applying KMS key encryption to all stored backups and setting up Vault Lock to prevent ransomware deletion. o Running a full mock recovery test, documenting the Recovery Time Objective (RTO) and Recovery Point Objective (RPO), and providing a step-by-step DR playbook.
