UK Accountant - CT600 Review, Accounts Reconciliation & Compliance (2 Small Companies)
Worldwide
Job description We need a UK-focused accountant/tax practitioner to review and regularise two small private limited companies. Company B has remained dormant/non-trading with no bank account. Company A is currently non-trading but has a modest historic transaction record involving director funding, intercompany receipts/transfers, international contractor payments and currency conversions. Existing Companies House accounts and recently submitted CT600s must be checked against source records, with any incorrect historical treatment identified and corrected where required. Deliverables 1. Review Companies House accounts, HMRC/CT600 status and filing evidence for both companies. 2. Reconcile Company A bank activity and classify director loan, intercompany, contractor and currency movements correctly. 3. Identify whether any filed accounts/CT600s require correction or amendment; prepare the correct route and obtain director approval before submission. 4. Verify the uncertain/outstanding CT600 period and prepare/file only what is genuinely due after director approval of final figures. 5. Review two £200 CT600 late-filing penalty positions and draft appeal letters only where supportable grounds exist. 6. Provide a final compliance schedule plus submission/acceptance evidence and a clean handover for all completed actions. Working standard Do not assume a nil/dormant treatment simply because an earlier filing used it. Review the underlying records, explain the accounting/tax treatment, and obtain director approval before any filing or amendment. Skills UK Corporation Tax / CT600 • Companies House accounts and corrections • dormant/micro-entity accounts • HMRC penalty appeals • bank reconciliation • director loan/intercompany accounting • iXBRL/submission evidence Budget, timing & screening Fixed price: USD 100. Target turnaround: 1-2 working days once records/access are provided. This is a defined review/clean-up assignment, not ongoing bookkeeping. 1. Confirm your UK CT600 and accounts-amendment experience. 2. Confirm you can cover the complete scope for USD 100 fixed and provide a final handover. 3. Confirm you will show the director the figures/treatment for approval before filing and provide HMRC acceptance evidence afterwards. Candidate note: The factual position will be reviewed directly with the director after shortlisting. This brief is for scoping only; the appointed accountant must independently verify the records and statutory position
