Summary

# Brand — Patternmaker Brief ## Note on Scope This is a trial engagement. We're starting with one style, the boxy tee, as a paid test piece to evaluate fit, quality, and working process before committing further. The full product line below is included for context, since even a single style should be approached with the full brand and sizing priorities in mind. Please quote the boxy tee separately from a rough estimate for the full 14-style set, so we have pricing for both without committing to the larger scope yet. ## Brand Overview Brand is a performance athletic wear brand, not athleisure. Built for hybrid training (strength, endurance, functional fitness) and designed to perform during workouts with enough comfort and style to wear between workouts. While comfortable enough to wear running errands and stylish enough to wear casually, every piece is designed to genuinely perform. Core differentiator: Brand is focused on interchangeable workout sets. Where most activewear brands only offer tight-fitting tops, Brand includes real looser and boxier options alongside fitted pieces, so customers aren't stuck choosing between "performance" and "room to move." ## Sizing Requirement **Range: XS to XXL** This is a non-negotiable brand priority, not a stretch goal. Fit integrity must hold across the entire range, not just scale proportionally from a mid-size block. We understand this requires real regrading work at the larger end rather than a simple scaled copy, and we want that reflected in the quote and timeline. ## Product Line ### Tops (4 styles) 1. **Tight tank** — fitted, performance cut 2. **Longline sports bra** — designed to be worn as a standalone top 3. **Boxy tee** — loose, relaxed fit, still performance fabric (this is a key differentiator for the brand, please prioritize genuine boxy drape, not a slightly-loosened fitted pattern) 4. **Boxy / loose muscle tank** — loose through body, dropped armhole ### Bottoms (4 styles) 1. **Loose running short** — relaxed fit, built for range of motion 2. **6-inch bike short** — with pocket 3. **Shorter inseam short** (approx. 2.5–3") — pocket placement TBD, open to patternmaker input 4. **Legging** — full length, high-waisted ### Sports Bras (4 styles, all performance-focused) 1–3. **Strappy variations** (3 distinct styles) — visually varied strap/back designs, but each must deliver genuine support, not just aesthetic straps on a low-support base 4. **Max-hold bra** — built for high-impact movement (running, jumping, heavy lifting) across the full size range. This style likely requires **encapsulation construction** (structured/molded cups supporting each side separately) rather than simple compression, given the size range we're supporting. Please advise on band width, strap width/configuration, and seam placement recommendations for minimizing chafing under heavy, repeated movement. ### Men's Line 1. **Performance T-shirt** 2. **Performance tank** 3. **Performance short** (6–7" inseam) Menswear is matched to the same colorways as the women's line, to support couples/training-partner matching. ## Fabric Requirements - High stretch recovery (returns to shape, doesn't sag after repeated wear/wash) - Moisture-wicking performance fabric - Compatible with sublimation printing: needs 50%+ polyester content minimum - Washed sample required before any bulk commitment, not just an unwashed swatch ## What We Need From You (Trial Piece: Boxy Tee) 1. Tech pack development for the boxy tee, graded across the full XS–XXL range. This is a loose, relaxed fit, please prioritize genuine boxy drape rather than a slightly-loosened fitted pattern. 2. Grading approach and cost for full XS–XXL range on this style 3. Estimated timeline: first pattern draft, first physical sample, and typical revision turnaround per round 4. File format/CAD software you work in, and whether we retain full ownership of the finished tech pack file 5. Recommended fabric partners or whether fabric sourcing is separate from pattern development ## For Future Reference (Not Part of This Trial) If the trial piece goes well, we'd look to move forward with the remaining line: 1. Tech pack development for the remaining 13 styles (3 tops, 4 bottoms, 3 strappy bras — max-hold bra to follow separately once encapsulation approach is confirmed, 3 men's pieces) 2. Confirmation of your experience with encapsulation/high-impact bra construction specifically, ideally with a sample or portfolio reference, since this will matter for the max-hold bra style 3. A rough estimate (not a firm quote) for the full 14-style set, for planning purposes ## Process We're Planning Real-world fit testing across 6–10 testers spanning the full size range, 2–3 sample rounds before final approval. Flagging this now so timeline and revision expectations are aligned from the start.
