After Effects Motion Designer — Animated Documentary Shorts (ongoing)

I run a documentary storytelling Shorts channel (English, survival/true-events). I'm hiring ONE long-term After Effects motion designer — this is animation, not video editing. The style (reference: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/FrPbbaf0FG8): animated stills and cutouts brought to life with parallax + zoom, a masked host keyed into the scenes, word-by-word captions, cinematic desaturated grade. Think Hoodie Guy / History Dude energy — but a serious, cinematic documentary tone (no comedy, no cartoon faces). What you do (all assets provided — script, VO, greenscreen host clips, stills, stock): -Animate stills/cutouts in After Effects (2.5D parallax, scale/position, subtle motion) -Key + composite the masked host into scenes (clean key, contact shadow, matched scale) -Word-by-word captions + a signature hand-drawn annotation style (references provided) -Cinematic cold grade + subtle sound design -Format: 9:16, 50–60s, 2–3/week ongoing, rate grows with the channel. $80–110/short at this scope for the right person (paid test decides the tier). Hiring: starts with a small paid test (15s clip) judging your animation, compositing, captions and grade. Best test wins the ongoing role. Requirements: After Effects (core), motion-graphics/2.5D animation portfolio, at least one greenscreen composite, licensed/provided assets only, 48–72h turnaround, async English.
