Android UI/UX Researcher for app teardown

Summary ▶️ About Us We are BrightMoney, a US-based fintech company building products that help Americans improve their credit and manage debt more effectively. As part of our ongoing competitive research, we’re documenting full user journeys across leading US fintech apps. We’re looking for a detail-oriented freelancer to help us capture and structure these experiences accurately. This is a research documentation role and not a design or development task. ▶️ Scope of Work For each assigned app, you will: • Download and thoroughly explore the app • Capture and document: Onboarding flows PII / identity verification flows Subscription or membership flows Core in-app product flows All major features Detailed click-through views (every screen in sequence) • Screen-record the full journey • Convert recordings into clean, sequential screenshots • Organize screenshots into a properly structured user flow board (Miro, FigJam, or clearly organized Google Drive folder) The output should represent a complete visual map of the product experience, logically arranged and easy to follow. ▶️ Apps You’ll capture for the below example apps: [ Cash App, Experian, MoneyLion, Albert, Chime, Brigit, SoFi, Dave, Cleo, Acorns, Rocket Money, Kikoff, Self Financial, Empower, Credit Karma, NerdWallet ] 🔴 Important Guidelines • All sensitive or personal information must be blurred or masked before submission • Do not skip flows or partial screens and completeness matters • Screens must be clearly ordered and labeled where needed • If any app requires a membership fee, BrightMoney will cover the cost • Proactive and consistent communication is required ▶️ Requirements • Physically based in the USA • Access to the US Play Store • Android with screen recording enabled • Comfortable using Miro or FigJam • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow structured instructions No VPNs or emulators. ▶️ Deliverables (Per App) • Full screen recording of explored flows • Clean, sequential screenshots • One structured user flow board per app ▶️ Engagement This is a quarterly retainer opportunity with ongoing assignments for high-quality work. Compensation is per app or per batch (open to discussion).
