Architect / Structural Engineer Needed for Solar-Ready Carport Permits (San Jose, California)

I am seeking a California-licensed Architect and Structural Engineer to draft, engineer, and secure city permits for a new backyard carport. I have already confirmed local zoning thresholds with the City of San Jose and sized the project strategically to ensure a straightforward permitting process. Scope of Work - Draft complete architectural and structural plans suitable for city approval. - Provide structural calculations specifically accounting for a heavy rooftop solar load. - Prepare the site plan showing the structure's placement in the backyard. - Submit and manage the plan check process with the City of San Jose Building Division until the permit is issued (or provide permit-ready stamped plans, depending on your preferred workflow). Project Specifications - Dimensions: 18' x 36' (648 sq ft). Note: I have intentionally kept this just under the City of San Jose’s 650 sq ft threshold to avoid the Special Use Permit process. - Capacity: 3-4 vehicles. - Location: Backyard, oriented left-to-right (See attached photos of parking spots. site blueprints and measurements are available). - Structural Requirement: The roof structure must be engineered to safely support a future 7-9kW rooftop solar panel installation. Requirements - Active professional license (Architect or PE) in the State of California. - Experience designing solar-ready structures. - (bonus) Prior experience navigating the City of San Jose permitting process.
