Architectural Drafter / AutoCAD Drafter — Permit Plan Sets (PST AVAILABILITY, FLUENT IN ENGLISH)

Gold Coast Permitting is looking for an experienced Architectural Drafter to join our growing team for ongoing project work. We are a growing design and permitting company and an expanding portfolio across residential, commercial, and other types of projects We are looking for a talented, reliable drafter who is highly proficient in AutoCAD, understands architectural/construction drawings, can accurately follow redlines, and can learn our systems and standards. What You'll Be Doing Depending on the project, you may work on: * Existing / as-built plans * Proposed plans * Site plans * Floor plans * Roof plans * Elevations * Building sections * Details * Window and door schedules * Permit plan sets * Renderings * Mood boards / presentation materials * Plan revisions * Addressing City and County correction comments * Updating drawings based on redlines * Coordinating architectural drawings with structural, grading, landscape, geologic, septic, fuel modification, and other supporting plans * Opportunity for client-facing design meetings Our projects span a variety of project types, including: * Residential * ADUs * New construction * Remodels and additions * Commercial * Tenant improvements * Other architectural and permitting projects The variety of work means there will be opportunities to work on different types of projects and continue developing your drafting skills. Required Qualifications * Strong proficiency in AutoCAD * Experience preparing architectural and/or construction drawings * Experience with residential permit plan sets * Ability to accurately follow redlines and markups * Strong understanding of architectural drafting conventions * Ability to read and understand construction drawings * Ability to understand coordination between architectural, structural, grading, and other plans * Strong attention to detail * Ability to work efficiently * Clear and responsive communication * Ability to work independently * Willingness to learn and help develop our internal standards, systems, and workflows Preferred / Bonus Qualifications * Revit experience * Commercial drafting experience * Experience with complete permit plan sets * California permitting experience * Experience responding to City or County plan check comments * ADU experience * New construction experience * Remodel/addition experience * Landscape plans * Fuel modification plans * Septic system plans * Geologic / subsurface plans * Structural or grading plan coordination * Experience with renderings or presentation drawings **Revit experience is a major plus.** Our current production workflow is primarily AutoCAD, so strong AutoCAD skills are currently more important. As our team expands its Revit capabilities, we expect opportunities to incorporate Revit into our workflow as well. You don't need to know every type of project or every jurisdiction we work with.
