AI-Assisted Software Engineering Coach (LLM-Native Engineering Mentor)

Overview I'm looking for an experienced software engineer who has embraced AI-assisted software development and can coach a senior engineering leader on becoming dramatically more effective with modern AI coding workflows. This is not a teaching position for programming fundamentals. It's a coaching role focused on helping an experienced technical leader master AI-native software engineering. If you're someone who spends most of your day building with Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Windsurf, GitHub Copilot, Gemini CLI, or similar tools—and you've developed repeatable workflows that significantly increase engineering velocity—we'd like to work with you. What You'll Do You'll work directly with our CTO in recurring coaching sessions to: * Review real development work and recommend better AI-assisted workflows * Teach advanced prompting and context management techniques * Demonstrate effective use of AI coding agents * Improve debugging, testing, and refactoring with AI * Recommend best practices for repository organization for AI-first development * Coach on multi-agent workflows and task decomposition * Introduce new tools and evaluate when they're worth adopting * Review architecture decisions generated with AI * Help establish engineering practices that maximize developer productivity while maintaining code quality * Stay current on the rapidly evolving AI coding ecosystem and bring new techniques into our workflow Ideal Candidate You: * Have 8+ years of professional software engineering experience * Have spent significant time using AI coding assistants in production * Are fluent with multiple AI coding tools (Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Gemini CLI, etc.) * Can explain why one workflow is superior to another * Have experience reviewing code and mentoring engineers * Understand software architecture, testing, CI/CD, and production engineering * Can adapt coaching to the learner rather than following a fixed curriculum * Enjoy experimenting with the latest AI developer tooling Nice to Have Experience with: * Agentic coding workflows * MCP servers and tool integrations * Prompt engineering for software development * Retrieval-augmented development workflows * AI-assisted testing strategies * Code generation evaluation * Infrastructure-as-Code with AI * Full-stack web applications * Python, TypeScript, React, Node.js * Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) Engagement * Initial engagement: 3–5 hours per week * Remote * Flexible scheduling * Long-term engagement for the right candidate What Success Looks Like Within the first three months, you should help me: * Build faster using AI without sacrificing quality * Develop repeatable AI-first engineering workflows * Improve prompt design and context management * Reduce time spent on debugging and boilerplate work * Adopt the right tools for different engineering tasks * Build confidence in leading an AI-native engineering organisation To Apply Please include: 1.
