AutoCAD Residential Construction Documents — Clean Up and Complete Existing Permitted Set
Worldwide
Project overview: We are rebuilding and adding on to the rear portion of our single-family home in Milford, Michigan (Oakland County) following a fire. The damaged section, an addition and attached garage, has been demolished. The rebuild expands on the original footprint with a revised floor plan. Scope of the addition: Two-story addition to the main structure, roughly 18' x 40', with basement foundation, first floor, and second floor. About 720 sq ft per level. Attached garage, roughly 34' x 32'. Second story living space extending above the garage. We have a complete, township-approved, permitted architectural set produced by a licensed Michigan architect. Native AutoCAD files are available. The architect experienced a serious health issue following the townships approval and he is not available to complete the project anymore. The design intent is settled and we are not looking to redesign unless there are significant issues that require it. What we need: An architectural designer to clean up and finish the documentation A. Coordinate plans across levels so foundation, first floor, second floor, and roof align and agree with one another. B. Reconcile discrepancies between plans, elevations, sections, and details Verify and correct dimension strings, wall types, window spacing, door and window schedules, and callouts. C. Organize the drawings into a properly structured sheet set with consistent title blocks, sheet numbering, layers, scales, and drawing index D. Incorporate structural redlines from a separate structural review we are commissioning in parallel (member sizes, beam and footing locations, bearing conditions) E. Produce clean, plot-ready PDF sheets alongside the updated DWG files What we are not asking for: No design work, no seal, and no stamp. The set is already stamped and permitted. We handle any revision submittal to the township ourselves. Deliverables: A. Updated, coordinated AutoCAD files in native DWG B. Plot-ready PDF sheet set C. A short list of any conflicts you find that you cannot resolve without direction from us Requirements: A. Strong AutoCAD proficiency, current release B. Demonstrated experience with US residential construction documents C. Working familiarity with light-frame wood construction and the International Residential Code D. Michigan or Midwest experience is a preferred E. Clear written communication and responsiveness Timeline and budget: Foundation work is pending, so we need to move promptly. Hourly or fixed price, whichever you prefer. Please include relevant residential sheet set samples with your proposal, along with your rate and an estimate of hours. We will provide the full existing drawing set for review before any commitment so you can scope the effort accurately.
