Summary

Karpi Studio is a Webflow Enterprise Premium Partner. We build and run sites for Series A+ B2B SaaS, healthtech and deep tech companies. Around 200 projects shipped, 8 design awards, small team across Europe and the US, clients in the US. I'm hiring one automation engineer in Argentina, remote. You report to me (Pavel, founder) and work daily with our head of design, who runs project delivery. You own our internal systems and client integrations. WHY THIS ROLE IS INTERESTING Most automation jobs are gluing tool A to tool B until you die. This isn't that. We're at the point where AI agents write the glue. We're early users of AI-native automation tools being built right now by people we know, and we use Claude Code daily. Your job is not to hand-write the 400th HubSpot to Airtable sync. Your job is to design the systems, data models and guardrails that agents run inside, and to know when the agent is wrong. So the person we want is the one who reads API docs for fun, who gets annoyed by a bad data model, and who wants to be the engineer standing behind the agents instead of the one being replaced by them. If that's you, keep reading. If you get bored by data models, stop here. THE CORE OF THE JOB: AIRTABLE Our operations and several client operations run on Airtable. Sales pipeline, delivery, reporting, client dashboards. You'll own it. - Base architecture: linked records, normalization, sync tables, when to split a base - Interfaces and dashboards for the team and for clients: pipeline views, delivery status, monthly performance - Scripting extension and automations in JS - REST API in both directions, with pagination, rate limits and batching handled properly - You should have opinions about rollups vs lookups and be able to defend them SECOND: CUSTOM API WORK AND AI AGENTS Make handles the simple stuff. Everything else is code, and increasingly code that an agent drafts and you review, test and ship. - Node/JS on serverless (Cloudflare Workers, Vercel functions) - Webflow CMS API v2: bulk publishing, content pipelines, schema injection - HubSpot, Slack, Google Workspace, Search Console, Ahrefs APIs - OAuth, webhooks, retries, idempotency, logging. Boring things done right - Setting up agent workflows with Claude Code and similar, and building the checks that catch what they get wrong THIRD: MAKE Scenarios with error handlers, routers, iterators, aggregators and data stores. And the judgement to know when a scenario should be replaced by code or by an agent. YOU - 2 to 4 years building this kind of tooling at an agency or startup - Airtable is your main tool, not one of ten you've "worked with" - Modern JavaScript, git, comfortable reading API docs for fun - You use Claude Code, Cursor or similar every day and know what to check before you trust the output - English good enough to write to a client without me rewriting it - Based in Argentina - You build things nobody asked for because the manual version annoyed you Nice to have: Python, SQL, Webflow custom code, Webflow or Make certifications, a GitHub with your own tools. TERMS - Starts at 20 hours/week, contractor, paid in USD through Upwork - Moves to 40 hours/week after 90 days if both sides want it. This is the plan, not a maybe. Quote both rates. - Remote within Argentina. At least 4 hours overlap with CET working hours. - Long-term role, not a project. You'll be the first engineering hire, which means you get to shape how we build. HOW TO APPLY No cover letter template. Answer these: 1. Describe an Airtable base you built that other people depend on daily. Structure, number of tables, what the interfaces show, what broke over time. 2. Describe one integration you wrote in code (not Make). What it connected, how you handled failures. 3. Tell me how you use AI coding tools right now. What you let them write, what you don't, one time they burned you. 4. Link to one thing you built. 5. Your hourly rate for 20 hrs/week and your monthly rate for full time, both in USD. Start your proposal with the word "rollup" so I know you read this. Process: one call with me, then a paid 4-hour test task in Airtable.
